Ringworm on arm

Hello All
I haven’t posted for ages, but am wondering if anyone knows anything about getting Ringworm on affected arm? It is rife in my primary classroom, and despite my best efforts I have managed to pet a patch of this fungal infection on my upper arm. I have anti-fungal cream from the chemist, keeping it covered etc, but it seeme to be getting worse. It sounds ridiculous, but I totally forgot to mention the lymphoedema- I am really fortunate that after wearing sleeve and glove for several years it has been well under control for the last year and I no longer have to wear the compression garments as a matter of course, so for actually managed to forget about the possible a problems of having Ringworm in that arm. Any experience or ice ice appreciated, thanks, C

Just updatingI not sure if has worked, can’t see thread as posted…

Oh you poor thing. Afraid i can’t really help but know it can be a s*d to get rid of - we sometimes get it in our young cattle. Sunshine apparently helps to get rid of it and also anything that boosts the immune system. I’de have a word with your BCN as well.
sorry I can’t be more help
cheers
Caroline

Thanks Caroline yes it does seem to b e persistent!

I think it can put you at risk of cellulitis, so I would keep an eye on it–if the arm gets warm and/or red, swells at all or you get flu-like symptoms–start the antibiotics as an emergency!!!
Phone your gp or lymphoedema nurse and have a chat, I’d say.

Thanks Quail,
Saw the GP today who told me I’ve been doing wrong thing by covering it up so well- making it ideal for the infection! Since I’ve uncovered it is feeling much better and swelling going down.
