Hi Tina, not long now until your 1st lipofill. Hope you are feeling positive about it and have a good weekend.
Hi Deed, hope you are still feeling positive about your recent op. Guessing you are still all trussed up!? Glad you said about not a lot of pain as I think I’m going to have to have implant removed and another shape/type put in before having lipofill.
Hi Deborah
Thanks for your post and your experience. Were you never happy with your recon?
Debs and Tina:
I have a prosthetic nipple made as im no where near ready for nipple reconstruction and im actually really really pleased with it. Looking at it you would never be able to tell the difference. They have made me 3 different “projections” to take into account cold days!! I stick it on with this special glue, almost like super glue and it stays on for 3/4 days at a time, even in the shower. Im almost tempted to stay with the prosthetic one after reading some of the problems the ladies have had on here.
Im doing great although bit of chaffing under the arms from the straps. Im forever looking down my top to see if “perky” has moved back up!! lol
Its not perfect cause now it actually looks a little bottom heavy but im not complaining. Its MUCH better than it was and who knows, when i have the strapping off it might move a little because its currently being forced in the southern direction!!
Hope you are all well and good luck with up coming appointments
After my recon I went straight onto Chemo, so that took over my life for the next 6 months, and it made me really ill, so the shape of my boob was the last thing on my mind to be honest.
It was when I started to feel better and got the hair back and back to work that the shape really started to get me down. My main problem was that when I had my bra on, on the recon side the cup looked empty as it was smaller and sat towards the armpit. It upset me daily, but I had no idea that anything could be done, until I was in hospital for my last tattoo and I heard a lady in the next bed chatting to the surgeon (my one has it happens) about her lipo op that she was about the have to get a better shape.
I then made a point of asking at the the next appointment for the tattoo check up, and my surgeon said he was happy to do it for me.
So looking back, no I was never happy with it, just thought I would have to live with it. I can’t tell you how pleased I am that I have had the lipo fill now. Although I am only a small cup, to have 2 boobs again when I put on my bra is fantastic and I still keep looking at it!!
At my check up the surgeon was delighted with the result, and I have been assured that if it reduces again, he will gladly do it again for me, and I would have no hesitation in going ahead.
No one who hasn’t been through this can ever understand of imagine what it is like, and I am sure some people think you should just be happy with whatever you have got, but I know the difference it has made to me.
Wishing you all happy outcomes, even if it takes time its worth it!
