After a routine mammagram I was asked to go back as there was a change in my breast. I had an ultrasound and core biopsey and an hour or so later was informed that I had BC - it never happens to you I thought. I managed to get an appointment with my consultant the following day and he explained what would happen - I know he mentioned an inch which meant absolutely nothing to me. I opted for a lumpectomy and some lymph node removal. I go into hospital on Wednesday same day as you Dozey ( I will be thinking about you) and have my operation on the Thursday. Thereafter I will have to wait on further results - such a waiting game I find I just want it all over and done with. Don’t know if anyone else has found this but I keep on getting a slight pain in the affected breast, is this just in my head?
Anyway girls all my very best wishes for any future treatment you may have.

Hi Millsie
I got the pain in my brest once I knew I had a lump but convinced myself it was just because i knew that there was something there. I had my wide local excision and node biopsy as a day case amazing really and for the first 2 days following I was on a high must have put a gin in the anaesthetic!! Since then it’s bben uncomfortable but manageable. Don’t worry you will be ok. Let me know how you get on I’ll be thinking of you and loking out for your reply.
Take care
Dozey x
I also got pain in the affected breast and like you i thought it was all in my mind as it never hurt before.
I had a lumpectomy and some lymph glands removed. Its been just over 2 weeks since my op and the scarring is great you can hardly notice it, i’m really surprised. I have to get a bone scan on wednesday, am a bit worried about that.
I will be thinking of you on Thursday. U take care. x
I can’t believe you went in as a day case - I think I would prefer that. I left work today and had a tear in my eye wondering when I would see my colleagues again but I will certainly keep in touch and let you know how I get on. Did you get a wire guard fitted by the way? Let me know your results please.
Hi Millsie
How did you get on with your op? I hope everything went ok; I am fine apart from having one boob like dolly parton due to swelling from bruising! but it’s been checked and all is well. My appt for the results has been put back to 6th May so have to wait a bit longer for outcome. Hope you’re not feeling too sore,Take care

Hi Millsie
How did you get on with yopur results on friday? hopw it went well I am anxious about what tuesday will bring when I get mine. I must say this sunburn feeling in my arm and the feeling that I’m on a string when I lift my arm up is weird but have been told that it does happen. How are you feeling now?
Take care
Luv dozey

Hope you are well. Did not want to contact before your results but mine are not as good as I thought. They found another tumour near my nipple so consultant suggested another operation to remove the breast. I have my operation on the 14 May and see chemo person on 16 May to decide my programme. I had an 1 inch tumour, grade 2, but another one lurking near the breast. Been fine most of the time but a bit down Monday and Tuesday.
I hope everything went well with you. My arm and breast are doing fine and I feel as if I could climb a mountain - maybe the painkillers - only kidding.
Hi Vodka
What happened with your scan. xxx

Love to all the ladies who have to go through what we have. We have great friends and families who love and support us and would do anything for us.
Most thanks for the BC Nurses/Consultants and Doctors who help us make it through this very tough time!
sorry to hear you have to have another op, try and keep your chin up. I don’t think I could get on half as well as I have without everyone on here offering support.
Hi Millsie & Paula43
Millsie, sorry to hear your results were not so good but keep positive and hang in there you’ll come through smiling I’m sure. My results were good, only stage 1 tumour which they took away and sentinel node not affected so just to have radiotherapy and hormone treatment for 5 yrs and yearly checkswhich was a relief. It’s been very comforting being able to share thoughts and feelings with the girls on this site it really boosts morale when you feel down. Good luck with the op on 14th I’ll keep in touch to see how you’re going on.
Paula hope you’re geting on ok as you can see from above my results were good.
Take care both and keep smiling
Dozey x
