I think it’s fairly common to get a runny nose, many people do and if you feel fine otherwise ie no temperature etc it’s probably just a se of the chemo. Don’t forget we lose our hair everywhere including nose hair so there’s nothing in there to “catch” the drips.
I have had a constant runny nose (like a tap) and eyes since starting Chemo (fec) just due to start (tax) I spoke to my GP about it and he said it is very comman side effect cause the chemo attacks all our bodys defences which causes this to happen I have also had a sore throst and cough.
Hi ladies, at least now I know its the chemo, I guessed it probably was but its difficult to determine between ses and maybe it being a symptom of something else,
hiya, yep my nose is always running, you get a few seconds warning to get a tissue quick! Have had it for ages and i think its a common side effect. After my last tax my eyes were really sore in the corners, vaseline did seem to help a little Ness xx
do you know what it is so embarrasing my nose literally drips, its like water, i am sure no one notices but i find myself turning scarlet, i have to have a laugh to myself it is quite comical,
my eyes have started too, and are a bit sore, but i think that may be down to the fact that all of my bottom lashes have now gone, and quite a few of the top ones too, wearing my sunglasses helps i think it keeps the dust and breeze out of my eyes,
oh bliss is this, no hair, no lashes, runny nose and eyes what a flippin sight.
will try the vaseline, anything else in the medicine cabinet i wont be able to close the door !
Had exactly the same with Tax - at first I thought I had a cold!! It does stop once the TAx stops. Yes I used Vaseline too. I did get worried when my nose started to bleed too - this can be linked to platelets so contacted hospital and had blood test but everything was ok - hospital was glad I made contact to be checked out. Hopefully you’ll just have the annoying drippy nose - it kept coming one least expected and I found it hard to always have the tissue to hand!!
Eyes watered too especially in morning - felt so silly as was doing so well not crying and then I had red eyes with this!!
I’ve had the constant runny nose with a bit of bleeding since FEC2 and it got worse on Tax (I’m in between Tax 2 & 3). It’s dreadful isn’t it - I’ve gone through so many boxes of tissues and the fact that you don’t realise you’ve got a drip on the end of your nose until it’s too late is so embarrassing!
My onc has prescribed me a Beconase spray this time - it’s usually given for hayfever - and it seems to be working so that might be worth a go. It takes a few days to have an effect. You can buy it off the shelf but seeing as we get free presriptions it would be better to ask your onc or GP for it.
When people think of hair-loss, they don’t think about nasal hair! I’m gonna top you all on grossness now…
I was DELIGHTED to be able to extract my first bogey in 6 months!!!
All that drip-drip-drip-drip was a bore.
Yep loss of nostril hair does seem to be the reason that I had a very drippy nose. Now exactly 1 yr to the day from last chemo nose still runs but not as much and don’t think I will need a leg wax any time soon either (every cloud etc )And I got to find out what a Brazilian means without the pain Sorry if TMI J xx
