Got my scan results on Friday and the xeloda is still kepping the cancer stable so I’m really pleased about that. Had a bad feeling on friday and am glad that the news was good and I can get on with the next 6 week chunk of my life! (on a trial so 6 weeks scans are required)
Hi Diane,
brilliant news long may it continue.
Hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and New Year we will be spending the hols between Manchester and Newcastle taxol permitting!
Love Debsxxx
Pleased for you that you are stable. What a double edge sword though of 6 weekly scans - your nerves must be shattered!!! I’m not sure what’s worse not having scans and not knowing what’s going on or constantly finding out.
Hope the stability continues.
Kate
I can undersatnd where your coming from Kate the 6 week scans are a real rotter for me. I hate them, my veins are so knackered that i am really anxious until I know they have got the cannula in!
On the other hand I will know quicker than normal if the treatment is not working and at the end of the day that’s probably a benefit, than to sit on a drug for another 6 weeks when it’s stopped working.
It’s not an option anyway as it is part of the trial, once the Xeloda stops working (which there isn’t a time limit on) I will move onto Sutent, which is the drug they have just knocked back for the renal patients. The Sutent turns you yellow and my nurse has pointed out that it is not like jaundice yellow it is a really yellow yellow!(I can see me starting to go for spray tans lol!). It also gives you stripey hair, but not up and down stripes but around your head stripes. That will be an experience as well, I’m just hoping the dye will cover it.
Anyway I’m really glad you are back online and are a true inspiration to us all. Keep fighting.
