I have just come back from the hospital to get scan results. I have just finished 6 cycles of Taxotere. Apperently there is no change, my liver mets havn’t changed nor has the problem in lung. So its good that it hasn’t progressed but not so good that the Taxotere hsan’t shrunk anything any further.
Anyway onc has decided to give me a longer break between chemo and not put me back on taxotere as it hasn’t done anything.
I have to go back again in July and they will decide what to do next depending how I am health wise.
So hopefully if it doesn’t start growing I may have a few months off of chemo which would be lovely
Hi Caroline
Scans always seem to bring mixed messages.
Really hope you enjoy your chemo break. Tumours staying the same I guess equals ‘stable’ though I know that feeling of doing chemo for a not very spectacular result.
Take care
Jane
Hi Caroline,
Weekly taxol did the same for my liver mets - just a stable result. I was disappointed, but my medical team were pleased. And that was about 2 1/2 years ago now…

Hi Caroline
It is good news that no change, but I think we always hope that they continue to shrink.
Hope you have a fab summer with no chemo and enjoy yourself.
Take care

Hi Caroline
I know what you mean - my scan results were “mixed” and I felt very confused ( some growth but not enough to be called “progression”? ) so off chemo until august - it’s hard not to have unadulterated good news( or a miracle!) so i know how you feel - I guess i just say to myself - well it could be worse! enjoy your time off chemo…jaynex
