I am new to all of this.
I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and have an MRI scan tonight at 7.15pm. I am scared of enclosed spaces and really worried about the whole thing.
Does anyone have any help and advise they can give me please, like how to keep calm and not panic?!

Sorry Murphy I can’t help but will be thinking if you I got a ct scan tonight (rather than MRI) my appointment is 6.30 but I got to drink water and have a dye so my actual table time is 7.30 so we will be in scanners at approx the same time. Sorry to hear of your very recent diagnosis BUT as time goes on and you know what they going to do it does get better. Thinking of you xx
Hi Murphy. I was worried about my MRI as I’m claustrophobic but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I went in feet first so my head didn’t feel fully enclosed and I could see a lot of light which helped. It was a number of different scans and they tell you how long each one will take before it begins so I concentrated on my breathing and counting down the time to stay calm.

I’ve had an MRI scan. It’s not as scary as we think and I hate being claustrophobic. They do cover you everywhere they give you headphones where they can communicate with you and you can listen to music. I asked for the radio. I nearly fell asleep. Mine was in the morning and I didnt eat much so my tummy kesp rumbling. Make sure you don’t drink too much b4 and go to the toilet as we are lying on our front so tummy pressed down and probably don’t have a heavy meal b4 either which makes sense. I was in for about 40 minutes. You will be fine.xxx

I’m back in sunny Cheshire now. Saw a wig place near the hotel as driving to get back into the motorway opp the Arcadian Centre. Its funny how its probably always been there but not noticed it b4. I go every year and stay at same hotel.xxx
Ck so glad you are home x next time you this way hopefully we will both be clear and not have appointments and can meet up I. I have seen the wig shop but think it tends to just be go in and try on rather than full hair loss support x
Jen No food for me 2 hours before arriving at hospital just waiting for hubby to come home so going to have yet another glass of water xx
About 20 minutes away so going shortly x my scan is neck chest and abdomen just noticed that on letter and I have read it about 6 times previously lol x

Oh Murphy sorry it was difficult I am unsure of tone frames for scans I have no idea how long I have to wait for my ct scans either. Waiting is the pits ?
I am having a ct scan on Monday morning, chest abdomen and pelvis to check out the ‘something’ they seen round my main blood vessel in my stomach during my liver scan. Dr said he wasn’t overly concerned but needs ct done before I can start chemo. #onemorethingtoworryabout!

Ha ha hope you are right … my op is the 7th x op results is 20th I believe ( always a Wednesday) just sort of assume I will get ct results then x
It is that’s why I hope your right those results are worrying me more than next op andblhmph nose clearance xx
I like to think if there was s problem they would be in touch I also now know where you got 13 from my mdt meet on a Wednesday morning so they won’t review my scan until 13th as that is first meeting after my scan last Wednesday evening xx
