Is there anyone with skin mets? I have had secondary bone mets for 2 /2 years and last year had a new local re-occurence. I had Taxotere + Herceptin from Nov - Mar this year, followed by a mastectomy in April. A week before my mx I noticed a red patch along the scar of my original mx, my Onc thought it was nothing, however a biopsy was taken during my mx op, and it turned out to contain cancer cells. I am due to start radiotherapy on Monday, and am having a CT scan tomorrow, but I woke up Tuesday morning to find that virtually the whole of my mastectomy area is red, like I have sunburn. I have spoken to my BCN and am seeing my Onc tomorrow morning. When I had the biopsy I was told it wasn’t IBC but from what I have been reading on the internet, it sounds very much like it.
I have only been taking Herceptin since November as I wasn’t Her2+ before. I had great hopes that this would give me at least another year, if not a few, but now I am scared that I have skin mets and fear that this kind of mets has a poor prognosis. Is there anyone out there who can give me hope?
