My names Rachy im 35 years old …I have 2 children age 16 and 12
February 2011 I had very painful breast inflammation and a lump on the underside of right breast … GP said it was an abscess and prescribed me a course of antibiotics,It did not work …3 courses later and the inflammation got worse …March 2011 GP then referred me to breast clinic … right away he said we wont scan you as its an infected cyst…
He performed surgery right away and removed a lump … (sent for biopsy)I was sent home with nurses coming daily to pack the wound so it would heal inside out … this went on for 2 weeks…
The wound seemed to be healing lovely until now 
I felt some pain in my breast 2 weeks ago went to GP and was told its all ok… Yest I noticed some red streaks around the wound …
Went to bed and woke up at 2am in agony My boob is so inflamed again and the wound point looks really sore …
Went back to GP this morning and she seems to think the surgeon either left a bit of the lump which has now got infected or theres something else going on inside my breast?
I am so scared as she has referred me back to breast clinic to be reopened could it be inflammatory breast cancer? Should they have scanned my breast to check before performing surgery?
Please help im going out of my mind with worry …

Well I had a better nights sleep but woke up in pain … Looks like an abscess has formed and burst in my surgical wound It wont stop bleeding…I have changed dressing 4 times in last hour ?? I will see if it slows down otherwise its a trip to the hospital
I never thought I would say this but roll on surgery Wednesday !

Rachy, just get yourself down to the hospital now rather than waiting any longer. If it decides to stop bleeding while you’re waiting to be seen you can always come away again. You could find yourself hanging around waiting at the hospital for ages, so you might as well go now and do your waiting there rather than at home.

Just an update … The wound seems to have slowed down bleeding but still swollen and sore … I think the antibiotics are starting to work but I feel really groggy
I am really nervous about surgery tomorrow but I know its for the best I think your all so brave on here …I don’t know how you do it …so supportive of each other its fantastic …
Lets hope they get to the bottom of whats causing my breast problems …I think its an infected Cyst but until they do a scan and biopsy I am left confused.

Welcome to the forums and you will certainly get all the info you need on here the people are amazing. What a lot of worry you must have been through, the hardest part is not knowing and it is agony. I hope all goes well with your surgery.

UPDATE:
Went into hospital (breast clinic) Wednesday expecting a scan and surgery… The surgeon had a look and said that they do not think they got all the lump the last time they opened me they suspect it was a cyst (which is great news) but its re-infected, He said he did not want to open me back up whilst I am inflamed and infected.
He took a sample for biopsy and removed the surface skin away from wound and burnt away the dead skin cells , He then used a silver nitrate stick and cauterized the wound to stop the bleeding? (Anyone ever had this done?)
I now have to go back next Wednesday to be checked and might have to re-open the wound to remove any debris left behind
I am a bit sore and swollen still but the infection has gone down loads I just pray thats the end and they do not have to re-open the wound as I dont think I can take much more pain
