Scared

Hey Everyone!

I am 30 yrs old and have been referred to my local breast clinic.

I have had a bloody dishcharge from my nipple and sometimes my breast feels very hot.

Should I be worried?

My GP appeared very concerned and her reaction has scared me more than my symptoms.

Hi emmypops

I know its not easy but try not to wory too much until you have been to the breast clinic, gps are wonderful but they aren’t breast experts so wait and see what the ‘experts’ say before you go any further. There can be loads of reasons for the symptoms you are showing and I’m sure there are ladies on these forums who can give you advice on it.

These forums are a wonderful place for advice and care and just somewhere you can let off steam if you need to.

Let us know how you get on.

Take care

Emmypops,
We were/are in the same place as you… as soon as you find a change in your breast and or get that referral, the primary emotion is fear. As you will read, the waiting is terrible and the worry only increases. The only real advice I can give is try not to ‘google’ too much and know that most people will get the all clear at the clinic… hope that you are one of them
Take care

Hi emmypops

Firstly, welcome to the forums, I hope you will find it a good source of information and support.

As well as the support you are receiving from the other users you may find the BCC booklet ‘referral to a breast clinic’ useful. This booklet is for anyone who has been referred to breast clinic and aims to give you information about what to expect at the clinic and the different tests you may have. If you would like to order a copy of this or read it on line just follow this link:-

I hope this is helpful

Hi emmypops
I’m new to this forum today after being referred to the breast clinic 3 days ago. I am at the stage that you were in your first post and I was wondering how you are? Have you been to the clinic? I hope the outcome is good if you have been and would really like to hear from you about your experience since your post.
