scared

I am a 27 year old mother of three. I was just at the doc. yesterday, I have very lumpy breasts, alway’s have. I started some nipple discharge from the right breast and I have a large indentation just abouve the nipple. The said he found 5 nodules and there is some swelling in the lymphnodes under the right arm. I have to wait for a altrasound but I am very worried about the indent. He said it is right to the chest wall. Has anyone ever had this indent before. I am very worried that I have cancer!!
Chantel

Sorry Chantel but it’s impossible to diagnose this over the internet. You have done the right thing in going to the doctor as the change is unusual for you even though you have lumpy breasts. I hope it isn’t cancer but once you’ve had the tests you will know one way or the other. It’s easier to deal with something once you know what it is, however bad, believe me. I was scared of the word cancer but it is a disease and can be treated.

I’ve had it and I’m still here five years later - but I was as scared as you,

Hi Chantel

I too have a indent but only slight my doctor has referred me to the breast clinic. My appointment isn’t until 16 June as I have been classed as non urgent. I dont have any other symptoms but the doctor said there were breast changes .It is a very worrying time but I have found this site to be really helpful . There really are some lovely ladies who are always ready to listen and give some good advice.
try not to worry, stay positive and let us know how you get on.
Take care
Karen

You did the right thing going to get it checked out. I know the waiting is hard and your mind races along and you get scared. I would advise not doing to much research at this point - it is so easy to read everything your can find and scared yourself stupid. Wait for your appointment and get done whatever tests they decide you need. Hopefully you will not have breast cancer, but if you do then you will get a treatment plan and you will know what you are facing.

This site is a great place for support. Will be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for a clear result.
