Sciatica and Tamoxifen

Hi

I finished treatment(chemo, surgery, rads) in May and have been on Tamoxifen since February.

Over the past few months I have had sciatica in my left leg/hip which has been gradually getting worse and now it is causing my hip to give way when I walk. I also have joint pain which is worst when getting up in the morning.

My breast care nurse says the joint pain is unlikely to be related to the Tamoxifen and is more likely to be a legacy of the chemo, although I can’t understand why it has kicked in so recently as I finished chemo at the start of January.

Has anyone had similar syptoms and, if so, what was the cause/treatment?

Thanks

Lola

hi lola your symtoms all come from tamoxifan and the chemo as i had the very same thing ,most of my pains left me after i stopped taking the tamoxifan especailly the pains in my feet and joints as some times when i got up i could hardly walk and it was related to the tamoxifan ,hope this helps you .
