Hey just posting to everyone on here! im 26 live in northern ireland and have found there is no support groups for people my age or around it, any one i go it is with people 40+ so myself and a couple of others around my age are looking to set something up, firstly by making a group on here, but we need to spread the word as none of us have met anyone else 16-40 and they must be out there somewhere! so if theres anyone on here who meets this criteria, whether you are going through treatment or have beaten cancer we would love to hear from you! and if anyone on here could spread the word that would be fantastic!!! i look forward to getting some feedback, fingers crossed lol xx
Hi Zane
I presume you have come across the Northern Ireland thread but if not please do have a look.
I run a group called NI Bosom Buddies which initially started on the BCC website in 2009. At the moment there are 7 of us (it has been slow getting people together over the years) and we try to get together once a month although more usually it’s every couple of months. Some of us are getting together this weekend and staying overnight in the Londonderry Arms in Carnlough. Normally, we go out for a meal and a few drinks and in the past we have been to events like charity fashion shows and are always on the lookout for other things to do.
Unfortunatly, the current NI Bosom Buddies members are outside your age criteria but we all were 26 at one time! lol and we will welcome anyone regardless of age. We are all very different regarding our diagnosis and treatments so there is a wealth of information and support among us.
I’m always looking for new members so if you’d like to give us a try you’d be very welcome and if it’s not your scene (too much like socialising with old fogies ) we’lll understand. I’m hoping to get us all together sometime in December again especially for those who can’t make the overnight stay this weekend. Keep an eye out on the thread or PM me if your interested and I’ll pass on the details of the next meet-up.
Hoping to hear from you again.

Hi zane
Have you tried contacting our one to one support service? Search Results | Breast Cancer Now
We’ve got a few volunteers who were diagnosed in their twenties. At the moment, none of them are based in Northern Ireland, but it might still help to chat on the phone.
To find out more or to be put in touch with a volunteer please contact our Peer Support Team on 0845 0771893 or by email at: ukpeersupportteam@breastcancercare.org.uk
Zane we have also set up a Facebook group for younger women. We have about 200 members now. If you look at the younger women thread you will see details on how to join.
Hiya zane, great minds think alike because I set up a Facebook group for younger women a couple of months ago and it’s doing really well, with nearly 200 ladies chatting away, as Raechi said (thanks Raechi!) . We are mainly all in our 20s, 30s and early to mid 40s, with the thirty something’s probably being the largest group. You are very welcome to join us, I think the are some northern Ireland girls but can’t quite remember! If you search on Facebook for Younger Breast Cancer Network (UK) you should find our page, and then you just need to send a private message to our page, introduce yourself and tell us a bit about yourself and then we can add you to the group. No worries if you don’t fancy it, I won’t take it personally!
