Hi everyone, i had breast cancer in 2004, had WLE and lymph nodes removed .chemotherapy ,radiotherapy. LOCAL RECURRENCE in september 2009. masectomy and reconstructon in december 2009. I had chemo again which i coped with better this time, probably coz they have improved the treatment. I am on herceptin treatment since may 2010 will finish it in june 2011. IS anyone else having similar treatment? yoyo

although iv had 2 primaries iv not had herceptin but i didnt want to read and run… i know many of the women who have herceptin tolerate it much better than chemo.

hope you dont find it too bad.

I’ve been on herceptin since 2008. I don’t have any side effects. Other than having to have the treatment in hospital it does not interfer with my life at all.

Second time to me too. Primary also 2004, recurrence June 2010.

Only had WLE first time, this time having the full works, although I’m not HER2+, so no herceptin. Had mx, axillary clearance, 4xAC, 3xTax and soon to have radiation to chest wall, neck and underarm, then onto tamoxifen.

The ongoing treatment side is really hard, isn’t it? Seems like it goes on into eternity. Only another 6 months of herceptin to go! Any tamoxifen for you?

Hi Jane72, thanks for you message. no i’m not having tamoxifen, my tumours both times have been negative .Yes i’ve found the ongoing treatment an eternity too !lol. The herceptin itself is fine i haven’t had any side effects so far so good.I hope your radiation treatment goes well for you.yippee! 6 months to go then maybe a bit of normality back in my life haha!.We all need our sense of humour to help us all cope better do you agree ? yolanda xx
