the node in my neck that was swollen has cancerous cells, so now im awaiting a ct scan to see if it has spread anywhere else, inc a brain scan as i have had a constant headache for over 2 weeks now, im sure the stress of the last week hasnt helped that. its odds on i will have chemo again regardless but all i can think of is that they are gonna tell me my days are numbered i am terrified all i can think off is my family cant bare the thought of leaving them, ive done nothing but cryi have to wait til next friday now to know my fate

so sorry to read about yr news. Will be keeping everything crossed 4u that yr scans are clear. I’m currently on chemo due to progression in nodes too. My recurrence was very quick too- I was dx in jan last year. It’s tough and so unfair but we have to fight this with everything we have got.
Were u on herceptin/ hormone meds or are you triple negative like me?? Seems this is quite common with triple neg ladies but less so with er/pr+ ladies.

oh i so feel for you having similar thoughts myself and dont have secondary and not even through first treatment. It does rear its ugly head to throw wobblies at us from time to time. My thoughts are with you and wishing you all the best news you can have.

thanks everyone! and yes tina i was triple neg and on tamoxifen but they are on about forcing me into change so i can have herceptin will know more on friday then will fight with all i have x

triple negative is when the cancer is not hormone or her2 related. If ur on tamoxifen + may be starting herceptin, then your cancer must be hormone+ her2 positive, which is a good thing as there are lots more treatment options than there are for triple negs (chemo only).

I do feel for you - having the cancerous nodes you just can’t escape the fact that it might be on the move. I don’t know how much my story helps cos we are all different. But back in 01/02 I had a number of lumps around my neck - they weren’t able to get a conclusive sample but were fairly sure they were cancerous because of the number of them. I had nothing else show up anywhere at that point but a bone scan a few months on showed I had bone mets that had spread extensively - but that was 9 years ago. Not an instant death sentence! Many of the members here have secondaries and are still around several years on so do take hope from that. Hope your scan results will be good.
