Seems Like a lifetime ! Another two weeks till I see oncologist!

Roller coaster of emotions ! Hoping to feel a little more possitive when seen oncologist ! Seems a lifetime till 4th feb ! Anymore inspiring stories or
Possitive support anyone could give me till then . L x

This is the worst time - waiting around. I’m having a rads blast next week and that seems ages away. Then I am waiting to see what a neurosurgeon says about another bit of my spine and then wait again to see if we have a change of hormonals or chemo. You always feel better with a plan in place!

Thankyou lizcat ! This is all very new to me! Only had initial b/c diagnosis nov 2013 and now find myself in the secondary category! So everything very frightening and raw at minute.

Lucy - Mrs blue is an old hand at this (sure she won’t mind me saying that!) and I have had secondaries from the start in July 07 so hope that helps you at this time. There are quite a few others on here who may be along who have had mets for longer too. Feel free to ask anything or just post your feelings - we understand!

Thankyou lizcat, mrsblue
Makes me feel a little better after reading your posts . That there is a life after secondary b/c! I’m sure you both have been where I am at minute . Hoping to feel a better when seen oncologist and treatment plan in place . Have either of you ever asked for second opinion? Just wondering what the process was ? L x

Thankyou tournesol . Just don’t want to step in anyone’s toes ! But it is my future I’m talking about so will probably go ahead with second opinion .

Step on anyone’s toes !

Hello Madge 1
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis , yes I too feel devastated and very emotional !! I too am going to try and get a referral to royal marsden. Off to g.p in morning to hopefully get the ball in motion ! Just hoping I will be accepted . Not sure what the criteria is ? Glad you are feeling a little more possitive this week I’m not quite there yet ! Managed to do a food shop today … First time in weeks . Thankyou for your advice .

Hello Madge1
I will give it a go ! I too may feel a little more possitive if able to get a second opinion. Just wondering who decides if they are able to treat you there at the marsden ? Many thanks for your support . This forum is just what you need when feeling so devastated and emotional . Lots of inspriring stories too !

Hi Lucy,

Thinking of you today… ((hug))

My clinic was 45 mins late, unusual at Marsden where I’m treated, but worth waiting - I’m “stable Mabel” again.

Do let us know how things are with you.

Hello mrsblue and thankyou for thinking of me today . Had app with oncologist … Treatment suggested … 6 sessions chemotherapy , scan after 3rd session just to see how things are going. Tamoxifen then may have radiotherapy. All new to me … 2nd opinion at royal marsden on Monday just to see what they suggest. Great news your end “stable mable” . Let you know how marsden goes .

Hi again Lucy

Everything is a lot easier once we have accepted a treatment plan!

When your onc mentioned chemotherapy, which one was mentioned?  My first chemo was EC (same as FEC but without the “F” drug), then I had weekly Taxol.  I have had two other types of chemo but these are usually given after a patient has already had other chemos earlier.

Hope your second opinion at the Marsden is helpful.

Hi again mrsblue
Chemo … FEC . Hoping to feel better after Mondays app . Early days I suppose but still feel numb ! Can’t believe I have found myself in this situation .

Hello madge1
Firstly congratulations on getting married ! Hope you enjoyed your holiday too . Sorry to hear you are having to wait till 17th feb at the marsden . I too just want to know what they will suggest ! This doesn’t get any easier ! Had a very low day today , just so overwhelming at times . Kept re -reading the inspiring stories of ladies on here . Good luck with your appointment . X
