semi permanent make up

Hello
has anyone tried this for their brows > and if so can you recommend anywhere in the north london/herts area. Theres a very good place I’ve looked into in harley st but its around 550 pounds- they finely tattoo on the eyebrows as if they are hairs. I am quite keen but not so keen on the price !

hiya Cally,
What about semi permanent eyebrow tattoos, from wigsandpieces.com they have many colours/shapes and are very natural looking (fine like real hair) the plus is they last about 5 days are easy to apply and are waterproof you get 10 pairs per pack and they cost about 3.25 per pack the other plus is thay can be easily removed with baby oil,i think they are a much better alternative than the semi permanent make up kind cos at least your not stuck with them if you dont like them. Headcovers.com also do real hair eyebrows and lace eyebrows as well as semi perm eyebrow tattoos which ive bought but havent needed yet thank goodness but they do, look very natural. just a thought hope it helps.
Best wishes

hi cally
i looked into this and also was tempted by a place on harley street - same price so maybe the same place. however, when i checked with a bcn she said i should very carefully as there is a risk of infection associated with this treatment and of course its higher whilst having chemotherapy. in the end i decided against. thanks for the recommendation in your post lindiloo - that sounds good.

Thanks for your comments
I have a pretty nice wig ready but I think I will look totally freaky if I lose my eyebrows so I will check out wigs and pieces. I have booked an appt for the perm make up but dont think I have thought about it enough.
I start my chemo on halloween , great huh

Hi,

Good luck with your treatment Cally, you may not want to go for the semi permanent option just yet. I had 8 fortnighly chemo cycles and didn’t completely loose my eyebrows until just after the last cycle ( just patiently drew them in everyday). I now have 6 days worth of rads left and my eyebrows and eyelashes are almost grown back. Because the hairs started to grow about 2-3 weeks ago I have just been putting some brown eyeshadow on them, it seems to stick to the tiny hairs and looks quite natural.

What I am saying is that I really only had about 4 - 5 weeks with no eyebrows at all and although not a great look, I wore hats and eyelined my eyes (no eyelashes either). You may be differently affected by treatment but it might be worth waiting to see how quickly you lose them. Also how dark will your eyebrows be with the tattoo’s and the real ones when they grow back?

Also, someone told me that there is a great eyebrow kit available - it has a stencil and you just kind of fill in the gap inside the stencil, maybe its worth investigating that. Hell of a lot cheaper than permanent tattoo and you can spend the money on something else to cheeer you up.

Anyway - good luck. Chemo is tough but it is entirely doable and you will be suprised by how tough and resilliant you really are.

Thanks all
have just ordered some brows from wigs and pieces , keen to see what they look like and at that price you can afford to make a mistake with the colour
