Morning everyone. What a gorgeous weekend. Spring is springing and I’m sprouting all over the place. Legs itching as hair breaks through and I’ve plucked about 4 chin hairs now and 2 on my right tit! Healing is going really well I’m taking the steri strips off today and having my first proper shower! I only wear deodorant on my right and I’ve been applying Aveeno under my left bc it’s been irritated in patches by the dressings. Left boob a bit sore now but I drove yesterday and did lots round the house so I think it’s just healing deep down. No swelling or redness. I’m finding it incredibly difficult to motivate myself, I finally get going late morning and getting a daily walk in which is getting longer and faster but this no mans land waiting for the next appointment is wearing. I see the onco next Tuesday to discuss everything. I won’t see surgeon till August for check up and MRI. Haven’t heard from Radiology yet, I was told 6-8 weeks from surgery so I’m expecting a planning trip over there soon I’ve got loads of tips from you all so I kind of know what to expect. Have just booked a week in Bakewell (Peak District) in April so knowing my luck it’ll clash with that. I don’t mind it being the week after I’m not chomping at the bit to do it I must say, though the image of @bellbert leg swinging will get me through it. The Phesgo sounds bloody awful and debilitating, well done for still getting your leg over
is letrozole another similar drug? Is this your last week of radio? Are you feeling any cumulative effects yet? Make sure you’re slapping on the cream, do you get given it? Have you noticed any changes like tightness/darkening? Clearly I’m reading about all the side effects and scaring myself to death!
@emsd2025 is it your second week of radio? Hope it’s going well? Any side effects/discomfort? So sorry you’ve had another scare, it’s gutting to constantly be on high alert but you absolutely should be wary and get everything checked. Did you get an appointment? Of course it’s likely to be scare tissue or swelling but our brains are in overdrive right now and we question everything. Sending big hugs.
@dizzy3 how are you doing? Are you managing the drains ok? Hope you managed to enjoy the sunshine at the weekend and you’re comfortable but it sounds so much better than last time! That’s awesome. You just knew it wasn’t right it must be so great to get that thing cleaned out and done properly. How is the armpit? I don’t think the NHS takes lymphoedema seriously enough and I think preempting it and taking care of that arm ahead of time is really important. A friend of mine had full clearance in her groin 19 years ago and she still goes to have lymphatic massage and wears hosiery and keeps on top of it she’s in great shape.
@cathie2 how are you feeling a couple of weeks after last chemo? Do you feel better? I definitely noticed a difference about 4 weeks after x I really hope you have some time before the 1st where you feel semi normal. My extra weight is slowly shifting and the bloat is going. The inflammation has gone too and my back doesn’t ache anymore after a long walk. It’s amazing when you see signs of your body coming back alive. I’m not overdoing it though, no upper body work and definitely won’t be going back to the gym yet, they paused my membership back in August with no charge and I just extended it. I’d love to do some swimming but BCN said that’s out for now. For now I’ll stick to my physio exercises for my boob while the dog climbs all over me, and long walks.
@molly.m good idea for the stick, it sounds so cute, and how liberating that you’re embracing your short hair, I’m not surprised you look so beautiful with it. Yes doing more makeup and accessories here too and I’m a total eyebrow expert now but all my lashes are back and long! They just came from nowhere! I’m getting loads of wear out of my wig as I don’t rock the fluffy kiwi look, around the house I wear head dresses and Mike and the kids make pirate noises especially when I wear hoop earrings, I need to get a toy parrot for my shoulder. Hair is definitely thicker and I reckon when it gets to a couple of inches I might have the confidence to style it and ditch the wig. My jaw dropped when I read about Barbara 2 and what she said! Omg she needs such a hard slap. How lucky are we Barbara 2 that we got the “survivable” type. Bitch. How long is it since your surgery now? I’ve definitely got a dull ache deep in my boob but I know it’s only been 2 weeks so it’s deep healing but every little ache has me analysing, prodding, poking and investigating!!!
@cridders thinking if you today xxx
@anim4l how are you getting on? Has your daughter broken up for Easter holidays yet? Do you have any plans?
Love to everyone xx
