Welcome @catie4
Morning all. Session 2 for me done yesterday it went OK overall.
All chemo was running behind and then over 2 hour delay for the cold cap. The staff were all amazing dealing with everything but it just meant a very long day. I arrived at 12 and left at 8pm. I did have a little bit of sickness right at the very end as the last flush was ending but I think that was because it was so long. I had not eaten since before 12 and also not drank much as it is not easy going to the loo hooked up to the IV and with the cold cap dangling
So I am hoping that is what caused the little bit of sickness and nothing else. Slept well and woke up feeling good. Just need to get myself prepped for doing the injection later ![]()
@emsd2025 how are you. How did treatment go yesterday for you? Hope it was OK and you were not waiting too long. I was thinking of you ![]()
Thank you @story1 I will take a look at Dr Liz O’Riordan she gas been recommended by different people. Really good to see you are feeling better, lovely pic. Good luck for number 4!
@bellbert glad you are feeling good and hope it continues.
@dizzy3 hope your headache eases soon and you can have a little bit of normality return.
@sunflower1972 sorry to hear your hair is starting to shed. The LookGoodFeelBetter courses do a headwrappers workshop that might be worth looking into: Look Good Feel Better For Women - Look Good Feel Better : Look Good Feel Better
@chargey hope your chemo goes well and you are feeling good.
@anim4l Sorry to hear your news. I can understand your frustrations as you go in hoping for answers and yet we seem to come out with more questions sometimes and things left open. It is good you have your sister with you, how wonderful she is
I have lymphodema following a mastectomy and full node clearance. My lymphodema is mild and less than 10%, nobody would know any different. I have to be careful with things like insect bites and cuts. But I have had some bites/cuts on my arm and always immediately clean and use antiseptic and not had any reactions or issues. I have to wear a compression sleeve while flying. I too had exactly the same fears as you but it did becomes part of the norm for me and I hope for you too. Glad you are feeling well and managed to get your steps in with a friend. ![]()
@catie4 welcome to this friendly group. I have found it invaluable as I have navigated through my diagnosis to treatment over the past few weeks. I hope you do too.
Best to all having chemo today and the rest of this week. xx
Thank you, it is, also it’s not nice to think of others going through this but comforting to know people really understand I find xx
Thank you xx
Good morning all, welcome @catie4 . pleased to hear that number 2 went well for you @cathie2 , yesterday.
Photo of me and Bertie, who is still wondering where Mummy’s hair has gone?!
Hope you all have a good day. Jane x
You look amazing @bellbert
Hi @cathie2 so pleased you’re doing ok, yesterday was ok for although drama with picc line and bloods in the morning, I have the injections this week starting today for 3 days. Not looking forward to it. Still another one down!
Welcome @catie4 nice to meet another triple neg - how are you feeling after your 8th pacli?
Hope everyone is doing ok xxx
Thanks Cathie2, the links look really helpful, I’ll register and see what happens next.
Good luck with your treatment.
Number 4 went well, my liver markers have gone down, they’re going to keep an eye on that. Home now fancy a snooze. Thank you @cathie2 it’s great to tick them off xx @bellbert Jane you look gorgeous, what a lovely picture xx
Recommended cystopurin for bladder in case I get the same probs this week. Not looking forward to injection tomorrow it made me bloat last time and I looked like moonie mcmoon face, I got really tight around my neck but antihistamine and walking helped xxx
We’re all up and running on this road and it’s lovely being a part of this group xxx
So pleased it went well
Thank you, re photo. Jane x
Unfortunately my picc line is blocked as discovered this afternoon when I went in for a picc line flush and pre chemo bloods.
They took my bloods in the normal way from a vein so my chemo can go ahead on Friday - it looks like the EC chemo will be via a cannula though which is much more risky than the PICC as if the EC leaks out of the vein it causes tissue damage and they plan to use a cannula to my hand …
Sorry to hear that, how do you feel about cannulas? Can they get the picc line cleaned up and changed? This isn’t a linear journey is it, it’s hard not to worry about the things that can go wrong but that’s what the team is there for, to come up with solutions. Sending lots of hugs your way tonight, go easy on yourself xxx
Sorry to hear this @anim4l They will be used to managing things like this and can hopefully get it sorted for you soon but it doesn’t stop you worrying does it. These are the bumps in the road we have to deal with and hopefully you will be over this bump quickly. Sending hugs xxxx
Good morning all.
Sorry I’ve not posted for a while. Now day 13 past 2nd chemo and feeling loads better. This 2nd chemo definitely hit me harder than the first and has made me anxious for my 3rd EC on 17th.
FYI On another note i recently became aware that as a cancer patient we can apply for a prescription exemption certificate which lasts 5 years and covers all prescriptions. I take blood pressure medication and will be on tomoxifen once treatment has finished so have contacted my GP for the relevant form.
Hope everyone is holding up ok. Louise x
Thanks so much @story1 and @cathie2
Luckily I’m not particularly squeamish as it was a bit of an odd sensation having the picc line put in so hoping it can be sorted today
I’m ok with cannulas - it’s just more. Of a risk with EC as if the cannnuia leaks it’s a risk of tissue damage …
The breast cancer nurses at the hospital gave me this form (and one for free parking at our hospital), try them if the GP surgery can’t help
Glad you’re feeling better Louise @mrsb6 when side effects hit hard it just makes it all tougher❤️ I’ve applied for the prescription exemption for my migraine meds x @anim4l when is your next treatment? Fingers crossed cannula behaves xx
Got out for a dog walk today, I can feel the pembro kicking in, injection later then chunky monkey for me until the weekend🤣 sending love to everyone, Rachel xx
Anyone had horrid side effects from the Filgrastin?
Weakness and muscle ache but a friend who has just finished chemo recommended 2 ibruprofen and a antihistamine 1 hour before then antihistamine for the rest of the week and I had no bone pain x
Thank you @story1
