@emsd2025 Fabulous news. Amazing. Soooooo happy for you. What a great start to the year. Hope your tummy is behaving now too.

@lumpybyebye hope your last chemo went OK for you. Wow what a milestone to reach. Good place to be.

@story1 Yes I have two left. Next Monday and then three weeks later. I’m ticking them off.

Bambi legs sounds about right! Good luck for your surgery appt, it’s good you are prepping a list of questions so that you can have a good discussion. If you are like me I have to write my questions down otherwise I completely forget everything. It’s really interesting to hear how different you are without the pembro.

Sounds like a lovely weekend, some sea air sounds perfect and you look great in the pics. And Congratulations on the book publication, hope it all went well.

@bellbert have you had your last pacli yet? Hope it has gone OK and you get through the side effects without feeling too weary. Sounds like I had very similar to you. Glad you have your plan for radiotherapy. I have been trying to get an idea of what radiotherapy is likely for me but I can’t seem to have much luck. It seems the number of sessions can vary so its good to read you now have your plan.

@dizzy3 sorry to hear about your latest scan but its great that they are getting you in for surgery quickly. Things are moving fast for you. Hope it all goes well this week, thinking of you.

@molly.m good luck for your surgery. Hope your nails ease beforehand and it is not an infection brewing on the left.

@anim4l great to read you are nearly at the end. Two more to go. Hope your surgery appt went well. March will soon be here with hopefully some good weather and some normality can return for you and your daughter.

I am so much better this week, hoping it will last before my next treatment on Monday!

Good luck to everyone having treatment this week, surgery this week, appts for next surgery or next steps – look how things are moving on for us, we are all getting through this ladies. xxx

@cathie2 glad your doing better, I hope it continues for you. How many more do you have now ? And thabks. Think they look worse than they actually feel now. Salt water soaks and doing the trick I think

@emsd2025 emsd2025it really is blooming amazing  hope you manage an amazing celebration with your family.

@dizzy3 how are you doing. Are you ready for tomorrow. Hope you have a good sleep and that all goes smoothly tomorrow xxxx

thanks @molly.m that’s soo lovely. I’ve actually weirdly been very weepy, just so scared of the fucking thing coming back and the anxiety’s really ramped up. Not like me I’m usually quite pragmatic - it’s a journey for sure. I think it’s delayed trauma perhaps. So stupid I should be bouncing off the walls!

Had my Sentinal Node Localisation yesterday - most painful procedure so far! Needle with radioisotope into breast - very close to nipple. It was only a few minutes but not pleasant.

This morning had gone smoothly so far. Arrived at 07:00 and had lots of visits from ward nurse, BCNurse, anaesthetist, surgeon, got my lovely compression socks on - luckily the nurse helped me!

I’ve had the guidewire inserted. Took longer than expected as they couldn’t find the marker coil. Eventually 2 radiologists found it! The procedure didn’t hurt just pins and needles in my arm & hand as I had to stay in position (arm above head) for so long.

I’ve been told surgery 11ish so expecting to be collected soon.

My belly is already rumbling so I’m glad I don’t have to wait too much longer.

Surgery went well. I didn’t get to talk to anyone afterwards who knew what had been done which was a shame. The breast care nurse is calling tomorrow and Tuesday to check in on me, so she may be able to tell me more.

The histology request in the discharge letter seems to refer to 4 axilla tissue samples and 4 breast tissue samples.

I was taken to surgery at midday, was awake in recovery at 2pm, back to Day Surgery Unit by 2:45pm, and discharged at 5pm. Now on the sofa at my friends’ watching the rugby.

I asked for some meds while in recovery when the dull ache was growing, but before it got bad - the way I plan to continue. I was given liquid morphine.

Currently pain free, long may it continue! Just a bit spaced out.

No regular meds prescribed - I have cocodamol and ibruprofen to take as needed.

I don’t look lopsided at all so I guess they didn’t take out a very big lump!

Its not stupid at all, it such a rush of emotions, its been a lot this past year and its going to hit at some point just what you’ve been through. Being strong for so long. I had the same thoughts this afternoon. And im sure they will creep in again and again. But hopefully that will be less and less as time goes on. We have so much to look forward too now that our chemo days are behind us. We have our little misses to keep us busy  will you be planning any time away this year ? Xxxx

Fab pic! How you feeling? Congrats @dizzy3 on surgery!! I saw surgeon tonight and he examined me and couldn’t feel anything. Final MRI tomorrow to confirm and then they’ll discuss me at MDT on Monday. BC I have final chemo Tuesday he wants me to make an appt when I’m feeling up to it to get my results and book in surgery (definitely lumpectomy, prob end of Feb) hopefully do that week of 16th by then we can go over exact procedure and discuss MRI and get booked in etc. I really feel as though I’ve turned a corner even though I’m dreading last EC on Tuesday it feels like a new chapter.

Oh girls this will bake your noodle: really excited to get IV vitamins on Tuesday just gone. Wednesday woke up to inflammation exactly same as what keytruda did to me! As fascinating as it is devastating but clear flare up of an aggravated immune system even though doses not high, the combination kicked me off. So won’t be doing that again. Really felt as though I was doing something for myself but clearly can’t cope with it just yet. Really put me off alternative therapies for now!

thinking about everyone going through treatment next week xxx

My 11th Paclitael was cancelled due to peripheral neuropathy in my hands - I was extremely disappointed but my sister cheered me up saying I’d had most of them and the oncologist’s original plan had been between 9 and 12 and I’d done 10. The oncology nurses scared me that the neuropathy ight be permanent so I can’t risk further paclitacel. Frustrating as I’ve been using compression and ice but it still got me. .
I’ll see the oncologist on Monday ( not my consultant unfortunately) and my sister will come with me.
A bigger issue I’m having is wobbly legs = I mentioned this tu my consultant a fortnight ago and he was unconcerned

So not the end of chemo I was hoping for but at least now I can start to heal, since January I have really struggled physically with so many side effects
