Thanks for this Story1, even knowing there’s something that might help is good, I just presumed I’d have to tolerate it. I was already on mirabegron for irritable bladder before this all started. I’ve only another 4 to go but I’ll maybe ask about help for it, thanks for encouragement : )

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this @skye2 sounds horrid, I hope they get this sorted!

Afternoon ladies, I’ll respond properly later on but just wanted to pop on a little update. Had my appointment with my surgeon yesterday and can happily say I’m cancer free. No sign of any pesky cells where my tumour was and no sign of any in the lymph node they removed. The tears were well and truley flowing. Its strange ,I thought I’d feel different. Im not sure how but I just thought different. The surgeon seems to think they will probably go with 15 rounds of radio in about 6 to 8 weeks time. Were booking a break away in a week or so to chill. Love to you all xxxxxx

such amazing news @molly.m

@emsd2025 Hope the chest infection has cleared up for you. So sorry to hear about your ongoing tummy issues, that sounds pretty lousy. Any news on your stool retest or when you will hear? Sorry to hear you are having a lump tested on the other side. I think we just become super tuned into every lump, ache, bump and pain and somehow we have to live it and know what needs to be checked. You are on top of it and getting it checked out for reassurance is spot on. Do you know how many sessions of radiotherapy will you have?

@cridders sorry to hear about radiotherapy now being added into the mix. Im not surprised you feel it is never ending when you think the end is in sight. You have your surgery planned and booked, that’s really good and the next focus. Don’t blame you for eating all the pancakes!!

@skye2 really sorry to hear what you are dealing with. I have not had issues like you have described. Can you phone your chemo hotline to ask some advice of what you can do whilst waiting for the results? Hopefully they can give you some info or reassurance.

@story1 That’s amazing news. What a massive boost! And great you have a date for surgery. How many weeks after your last chemo will surgery be? And great news on your new book coming out. Double celebrations!!

@molly.m Awh just fantastic news absolutely brilliant. More good news to celebrate and a break away sounds perfect timing for you!

My back pain, swollen ankles spaciness and weariness all easing. Starting to get out walking again which is lovely. Counting down the days till my last treatment a week on Monday!

Enjoy the rest of the week and the weekend when it comes. xxx

Lovely to hear from you @cathie2 so good that you’re starting to feel better! Chest is much better thank you, we had a family job lot of antibiotics . Yeah tummy isn’t great - waiting for the results of the stool test now, hopefully tomorrow but might be early next week but I’ll mention it tomorrow when I go to talk about radio and Pembro as I think it might be a Pembro side effect hmm. Yeah I’m hopeful the lump is nothing but the anxiety is real - def harder in the waiting periods between treatments. I went to a look good, feel better session on wed which was fab. Ended up sitting next to a lady who also has triple negative and is being treated by the same team. It’s a small world!

Thanks @cathie2, I did call but was held in queue too long, gave up. Incontinence reigns (rains?) lol. Far from ideal but at least the urge discomfort has lessened. Glad things are easing for you and you’re getting back to your walking. Best wishes for your final treatment! xx

Good morning lovely ladies, good to read you are all handling everything thrown at you! I am still suffering with bad nails and neuropathy. My nails are going from red/yellow to white/yellow and are leaking a clear fluid! I am putting tcp on them, so you know where I am at any time, just follow the smell of the TCP!! Oh and hideous swollen legs, ankles, feet and hands!!!
Morning Rachel @story1, sorry to hear about the nipples, hope it’s cleared up now. If you are still consipated, eat kiwi fruit, between 1 and 3 a day is recommended, only have 3 if you are desperate, they are poweful laxatives!! Brilliant, fantastic news about the clear MRI, I am thrilled for you. Finished Dark Game, loved it all the way through, loved the twist at the end, wonder if we get to see him take over everything in future books ? Will be getting book 2…Good luck for surgery, almost at the end now  xxx
Morning @emsd2025 , Hope your chest has cleared up and the tummy isn’t as bad. Good to hear that it’s being investigated. Good luck tomorrow, as you say, you have already mentioned it to your surgeon, so it probably is nothing, but best to be sure. We will all be thinking of you. xxx
Morning Kim @cridders , Sorry you were hit with radiotherapy out of the blue, I hope your research has reassured you a bit. I was adamant I wanted radiotherapy, as I know it kills any stray cells, so I hope you can look at it as a positive thing. Hope your scan went well yesterday. Pancakes, yum, love mine with lemon juice and sugar…must have some! xxx
Morning @dizzy3 Hope you are feeling well. I agree, they seem to much prefer only doing Sentinel lymph node biopsies, to full clearance nowadays and the studies have shown that radiotherapy is just as effective as full node clearance, luckily! xxx
Morning @skye2 , sorry you are suffering. Drinking lemon barley water regularly, helps to calm the bladder problem, I expect it changes the PH value, so give that a go. Loose bowels is unfortunately a side effect of Taxol treatment, I used Immodium melts. You do have to tell the oncology nurses if it gets too bad though. Good luck with the rest of your treatment. xxx
Morning Ailsa @molly.m , Brilliant news  I am due to have 15 rounds of radiotherapy, starting the 12th March. They are doing the boob, armpit, collar bones, central chest and a boost to the chest wall, so I am being fried well and truely! Hope you managed to crack the people in clay? Tried drawing people once, not good!! Hope you manage to get away and have a fab time. xxx
Morning @cathie2 , Glad the back pain and everything is easing. I now have the badly swollen ankles, feet, legs and hands, strange it started a week after the last Paclitaxel treatment. It eases a bit overningt but then swells up again. I looked on the internet and it is quite common and goes on its own, after a while. Pleased to hear you are able to get out walking still though.xxx

Good luck to everyone with forthcoming appointments, surgery etc. Keep going…
Love to all, Jane xxxxx

Thanks @bellbert, I have that going on with nails too, worse on big toes, right one so white I fear losing it. No fluids, glad u pre warned re that, I’d no idea. Also have the huge ankles and feet swelling as day goes on. I thought was the paclitaxel too but oncologist said was caused by the steroids …. Waterworks still a problem right now but thankfully haven’t had any problems with bowel except breaking wind a lot and even in a supermarket other week, was looking at a shelf and suddenly pprrrrp! as people walking past. Nowt I could do lol, but let them have a giggle and decided right there and then not to care!!

Good luck with your radiotherapy x

Thank you  I will be pleased to get the radiotherapy over and done with, last big thing ( well at the moment, anyway!). I am sorry you have the same problem with your nails, the TCP ( diluted 1:1 with water ) does seem to be helping a bit. I find it so strange that my swelling started a week after finishing chemo and steroids, but it seems that others have it too, so no need to panic. I just keep saying have cankles now  I have the problem with wind too, I think most of us have had, luckily I work from home and also get the shopping delivered and if I am walking the dogs in a field, I can trump away to my hearts content! Good job you can laugh about it. Good luck with everything and hope your nails stay on! Jane xxx

@molly.m amazing news!!! How wonderful you deserve that break away!!! @cathie2 my surgery will be just shy of 4 wks after last EC. Getting the radioactive seed put in Tuesday. Thinking of you approaching final chemo, it’s a huge day. My body has been in survival for 6 months after the last one I just collapsed. Now 10 days after I feel strength coming back xxx @emsd2025 thinking of you today hope all went well xx how is tummy? That feel good session sounds fab, it’s always good to connect with people who understand xx I went for a long walk today with a very close friend who is a 19 yr survivor of ovarian cancer. She gets it. @bellbert those nails sound so sore! I hope they heal soon for you. Thanks for the kiwi tip, back to normal now thankfully, oh the cankles and the farting:rofl: @skye2 were soooo glam:rofl: I fart constantly. Hi @bellbert and @story1 my stool test came back in normal range woohoo!! Hopefully onwards and upwards.

radiotherapy appt was ok - he mentioned not having the standalone Pembro…not sure about that honestly…he had a ganders at my boobs and thinks that the underarm lump is fine but it’s being checked by a surgeon on Tuesday. However, he seems to think I have another fibroadenoma in my left boob, first I’ve heard of it and I can’t feel it. Triggering as wasn’t mentioned on mri or mammo previously. Will see surgeon on Tues, they’re saying it’s all fine but originally they said t’other one was fibroadenoma so that’s not ideal and I really can’t feel it…

Great news re stool sample, but not so good re the possible fibroadenoma, only from the point of view, that it will be very worrying, until it is confirmed as just that. Just looked them up and they are harmless little devils, that often disappear after menopause, they don’t increase the risk of breast cancer if they are present, so we will all keep everything crossed that that is all it is, would completely expect it to be just that and nothing more, but of course, any of us would still be anxious. Good news that your armpit is ok though. As bloomin usual, one piece of good news gets overshadowed by something else, bloomin’ hell. Sending you a hug. Jane xxx

@emsd2025 Great news on your stool test and under the arm but really sorry about a possible fibroadenoma on the left side. Keeping everything crossed for you. You must think two steps forward and one step back at the moment. You will get through this, it’s another worry for you at the moment but at least you are getting seen quickly. Hope you can fill your weekend with some lovely distractions.
