I’m concerned that everyone is saying 10 days approx to stRt to feel normal again. My Tax when it starts is every two weeks so this will mean feeling bad all the time.

HI Pam and Ness…i felt bad from day 3 to 7 so 5 full on days in all. Felt better as soon as injections stopped. Like Sam says…few aches here and there and more tired. Mouth taste goes on for longer…gross. Hope you get away from those germs Pauls! Xxxx
Pam it’s not me it’s PaulS in hospital, lol, glad I’m not the only one who gets confused!! And I’m sure your dose will be reduced for fortnightly chemo, so it’s as manageable as poss, don’t worry about it now, that’s a waste of time! It’ll be monitored well and you’ll be fine xxx Sam
I’m now on day 4 after FEC4, and actually not feeling too terrible for once! This is the first cycle that I’ve managed to get some food down me during the first few days, and even managed 6 and a half hours sleep last night (a record for me when on steroids!) For all my grumbling last week about delays, I think the extra week has really helped…and the magical milk thistle! :smileyvery-happy:
I was also wondering if anyone is starting to lose eyelashes yet? I can’t tell if I’m just really paranoid, I had quite fair hair so usually I tint my eyelashes, and I can’t tell if they are just blonde or disappearing! I don’t want to risk dying them as that might make it worse…does anyone know when they normally go? Might be time to stock up on some falsies!
Sorry to hear all you TAX girls are having a bit of a rough time, its sounds very different to FEC but equally rubbish!
Emma xx
HI Emma I have node eyebrows and lashes. Mine started to think. On Tax. Now a couple left. Eyebrows don’t bother me as can’t see them anyway! Looking like an albino mouse at the moment! Wore sunglasses todAy…luxury! Have false eyelashes but think I may be too lazy to put them on? Must try harder!!! X
Meant blonde of course!
Hee hee me too! I did laugh this morning as I optimistically put on mascara, about 5 lashes on each eye, but they looked great ??, spiders legs spring to mind!! Ho hum xxx
Hello Beamies,
Many thanks for all your messages. Yes indeed, yesterday my cocktail was as scrumptious as ever, but without any glithes or traumas, and I had the cannula queen of the South of England put it in - what a beauty, I love that girl!! Have very whacked today, but like you Emma, not at all bad after Fec 4. Crossing them off, we ca
Poor Pam – immune system taken such a battering. Hope cysts clear up superfast, and wound heals over. Like you I have allergic reactions to wound dressings. They did find something that didn’t bring me up though, and used it post-surgery.
PaulS - poor you, so horrid to be in hospital, but sounds like they are being super thorough, but it all takes ages. I guess they are looking for any underlying reasons for the night dizziness ie cardiac. My pal who had 6 X Tax said diarrhoea was a major problem for one week each cycle; absolute trots. But how horrible that you fell and cut hand. Stitches?
Sam – bet you are looking forward to the man about the house again. Hope homecoming is a bodice-ripping affair! Am thinking Poldark for some reason … always does it for me!
Bye bye, and hope you are enjoying the sunshine. Might toddle out for a quick walkies with my lovely daughter who is here to look after me. Love Anna XXXXXXXXXXXX
sorry that was a bit scrambled … we can do this!
glitches
Brain scrambled egg …
Hi Lou, good to hear from you and that your number 4 went as well as poss!! My tips on stopping the panic are pretty basic really, we can’t control our futures enough to stop certain things from happening, whether you worry about it or not there are some things we will never stop, so worrying and panicking is a waste of time, as I’ve said before I live with the mindset that I’ve got more chance of a car taking me out than anything else, and if I’m gonna go then that’s that, it’s ok and normal to be concerned about this stuff, live as healthily as poss but enjoy and just be happy with each day as it comes, most of the things we worry about never happen anyway, and if they do worrying does bugger all to change it!! That probably all made no sense, lol, chemo brain took over?!! Hope your SE are manageable and your having a nice feet up time!!
Glad your cocktail was smooth Anna and hope your walk with daughter was lovely and not to cold!!
Husband on route as I type, lands at 5 at heathrow so should be home about 8, if the M25 is ok, which is never lol so who knows!! And I’m not feeling the Poldark moment ?, more a cup of tea and Oh go on then, lol, my mojo has got up and gone with all this crud, hope it comes back soon!! Too much information??? ??, have a great weekend lovely ladies, hope your ok PaulS!! Lots of love xxx Sam
Day 8 and I do feel marginally better, although it is all relative! Thank you for the encouragementl. Hope everyone else ok, and haven’t done something silly like rush off to tesco to buy TVs.
Meant to say, Rachael, I hope next time you go in to school you will be wearing an enormous floppy hat complete with feathers and cherries. That’s what I would do!!!
Lots of love to all
Ness xxx
Evening Beamers being keeping up with your posts. Sorry to hear some of you are having a hard time. Well not much to report this end. Life has returned to normal (whatever that is) running around after the kids, shopping and cleaning. Everything settled down for me the day after the injections finished. I still have my eyebrows and lashes but finer hoping I’ll hold on to them. I was advised not to use false lashes they can damage the new lashes coming through when you pull them out. So be careful.
Have a good evening Ladies. Cx.
Oh Ness you just made me laugh!!! And Anna with the Bodice ripping! LOL!!! Hope you have a lovely meet up with hubby Samps x im just going through the usual day 3 ’ oh this isn’t too bad’ but steadily getting headachy and feeling generally rough. Started staring insanely at ‘coach trip’ on telly! Wtf! Defo know that pains end on last day of injections so hopefully less of a mystery this time…although you never know!!! All I know is I don’t want to go to hospital this time! Hope Pam and Pauls ok?
Meant inanely not insanely…although that fits too xxx
That’s fab to hear your hubby is back Sam, hope you have a great weekend!
I think i’m just going to have to embrace the sparse eyelash look, it would be been nice if they had held on for another 8 weeks or so, but I suppose its good that they’ve lasted this long! My eyebrows are looking a tad thinner, has anyone tried Benefit Brow Zings? I’ve heard pretty good thing about it, shame about hefty price tag!
I have an exciting night planned watching Australian Masterchef with the fiance, we’re only on episode 25 out of 60, need to get a move on with it, although its been a good chemo companion…but it does make me miss my appetite!
Emma xx
I’m ok ladies! They thought I might have had a ‘heart episode’ but after lots of scans and blood testa and X-rays ruled it out. The onc thought the dizziness and almost fainting was dehydration. The painful swollen hand he said was not cellulitis but an allergic reaction to the drugs so have hydrocortisone cream and white gloves! The worst thing was being in the waiting room with angry people who had been waiting for hours and I was called three times over an hour for various tests. One man complained loudly and I wanted the ground to swallow me up! But the doctor put him in his place and took me to a bay to wait. I also was told I am to have 19 radiotherapy sessions not 15 so was not happy about that!
Sampeds -SO pleased your hubby is home. I’ll bet you already feel better. Don’t know how I would have coped without mine. Glad to hear you are all doing better and so hope you all have a good weekend. P xx
Thank goodness PaulS! So glad you’re home and all ok, well as ok as can be! There are some rude numptys in this world aren’t their!! Our NHS is far from perfect as we all know, but when I see things about Americans who have terminal diseases or things like appendicitis and they can’t pay so get no treatment it really makes you appreciate our system, sadly it’s going downhill, good job we don’t have to pay, just the drugs alone would mean remortgaging!! Lol
Enjoy your foot massager Den, lol, and your ready made tree, why not eh!!! ??
Had a lovely first night with my man,?, mojo returned for a bit, felt a bit odd being bald and thinking hmmm will he still fancy me, it’s a huge part of us our hair, but I needn’t have worried, evidently I look like some female from Star Trek,?, and yep, he’s a scifi geek, so all good!! The biggest surprise was his genuine " oh this looks lovely Sam" ref the lights and decs, I nearly fainted!! Amazing what you can get away with having this **bleep**e ?,
I’m really tired today, think it’s a subconscious reaction to knowing I can relax now for a bit, hats off to single parents who do this all alone all the way through, bloody amazing!!!
Have a lovely weekend Sunbeams, and if suffering then painkiller up and rest well, lot of love xxx Sam
Well spoke too soon! Just admitted to hospital and on intravenous antibiotics for my hand. No temperature but it has got steadily worse and very red and inflamed. They are not sure yet what it is but it is spreading up my arm so they put marks on it to see if the medication stops the spread.
Sam you are right! Imagine if we lived somewhere with no nhs! I have been so impressed with my care. Trying not to be completely bleep off! I was out shopping and only went into Boots to buy white cotton gloves so I could have the cream on my hands all the time and the pharmacist told me to get back to the hospital! But I am bring well looked after.
Sampeds do pleased you are having great time you deserve it. Ladies - look after yourselves and have a lovely weekend. P xx
Sorry Jo! Bleeped off!
Now wide awake in middle of the night in the hospital. Can’t watch TV as don’t want to disturb others and too tired to read, fun this eh?
P xx
Oh no, PaulS, you must be really bleep off
Hope they don’t keep you there too long!! xxx
Hit my personal rock bottom (so far) yesterday, emotional and physical wreck all day long. Absolutely had had enough of the whole thing and spent the day in bed crying. Feeling a bit better this morning though…I have a lot less pain and have managed to do a couple of little jobs without feeling like I might keel over. Phew, long may it continue!!
Hope everyone else keeping spirits up OK xxx
