share my picnic plate

i was diagnosed August 2005 went through the Chemo/Rads, Triple neg so that was that. Like most people the worry is the dam thing might come back, and you read all the time on the site from people if they get an ache or pain anywhere panic kicks in (its a natural reaction i would say) i also have those worries. However my constant concern was the actual breast where i had my tumour removed (WLE) i was convinced the cancer would come back somewhere on the breast skin or on the scar itself, i was for ever checking my breast, so this is what i did, i got 2 paper picnic plates i drew a nipple on each plate, i marked every blemish, mole etc. since my op i have always had a red dot on the scar 5th stitch along that got marked to. I used the other plate for my other breast it has worked a treat, yesterday i noticed a mark when i was in the shower (Panic) i ran and got my plate marked the offending mark in red ink i put some cream on it and it was nearly gone this morning, on the other side of my plate i log the date when i first noticed any thing different (keep my eye on it) if it goes i put the date it went away, sounds daft i know, but has stopped me worrying so many times.

Cheers to you all x

Thats hilarious blimey what a great idea. I have this picture in my mind now of your plates, I do hope you keep them in a ‘safe’ place.
Don’t forget the pens too Pam. haha.

Inspired! If only we could attach photos and drawings to our posts, we could have even more fun. Well done Kippy - top marks for creativity.

glad some people liked my plates, oh yes Rx i keep my plates in a very safe place, i most certainly do not want anyone buttering there bread by mistake on my Breast plates that’s for sure, i have never told anyone this i do actually pack them when i go on holiday, its a good job i do not holiday abroad, god knows what customs would think of them if they searched my case!!! yes Pam don’t forget the red pen.
Take it easy X

yes what I shock they would be in for if they routed around your case, try explaining that one if you can…I suppose you could always blame it on the kids that is if you have any…

take it easy too
