I am sick of my wig, can you get a short hair wig? They didn’t seem to have any at the wig shop i went to. I thought it would be a good mid point before whipping my own ultra short hair out when ( hopefully) it grows post chemo. Has anyone got a short hair wig and is it any good, or do they not do them because you can see the wiggy bits?
Also, i have had 3 fec and i had my first tax two weeks ago. I used the cold cap for first fec but hair was coming out and the whole thing was driving me mad, so i shaved it to a number three. I have lost a lot of hair since and can see my scalp thru the hair thats left. I probably have a 30per cent coverage at most? But that hair has grown, and i also am pretty sure i have some soft new growth over most of my head. Whats going on? I expected to be totally shiny bald by now.
I had a short hair style wig and then had it cut and thinned by a good hairdresser as I wanted it to be as close as poss to my very short ‘normal hair’ .
I am pleased with the result an you certainly can’t see the joins!
Hi, I had a good choice of short wigs - think you need to research and find a better wig shop! If you’re in the North West I can make some suggestions. I used a good place in Blackpool but the NHS lady also had several short styles.
Hi, Vicky
did you get your wig from Nu-Style in Whitefield? I got my short wig from there. I’ve just bought a long Blonde wig from a lady who has a stall in Ashton market hall if you ever get to Ashton. She was recomended by the hospice where I attend the day centre. she has had BC herself. otherwise there is Pauls Hair World on Oldham St in Mchr.
Hope you find something
