Hi
Does anyone else feel like they have a shortness of breath. I feel like the slightest bit of exercise and I have a sore chest. I walked to the shop yesterday (a short walk) and by the time i got back I felt that i was only taking little braeths as my chest felt so tight. Maybe it’s just me! Hopefully someone will tell me its normal and everyone feels like that.

Hi again
Yes, I also get shortness of breath, walking up the stairs etc.
I think it is a common side effect.

Hi Jewjew,
Yes me too, it usually starts 2 days after i come off the steroids, and lasts a couple of days, but does settle. Try and rest as much as you can. I have found that propping myself up with more pillows eases it rather than lying flat, as this can cause it to be worse with me. Hope this helps.
As Cecelia says it is a common side effect of the chemo i think.

Hi Ladies
I had the same when on FEC chemo I think it is where your blood is getting low and yes it is a common side effect but if you are worried ask your chemo team…

Hi Jew
Yes me too. I panicked at one point and ended up in hospital. Had an ECG, blood taken, heart monitored but it turned out all was OK just low red blood cell count from the chemo. I have learnt to take it easy when I get like that and after a few days I’m back to “normal”.
Best wishes

Thanks everyone for those comments nice to know it’s not just me! This forum is helpful for putting things straight in your head and stopping us panicking about things.
Hi jewjew
I suffered with shortness of breath too, and like Elizabeth was told it was because my red blood cell count was low. Nothing to worry about though, but I’m sure the girls have put your mind at rest.
Good luck with the rest of your treatment !

Thanks everyone for the posts, glad it’s not just me! I think I will just give up on the walk… mind you lazing about this much will make me so un-fit maybe I should keep going. Weather is good so I guess there’s no excuse!!
