Hi all
Well had final visit to see Consultant yesterday before op on Tuesday. Have found out that it is Stage 2, 3cm, Hormone Receptor Negative, HER2 Negative, 100% definate chemo for five months once margins clear, 3 weeks of rads after that. Told this is due to my age (46), size of lump and the need to offer full body protection with the chemo and then the rads to breast finally. Will know grade once surgery done and histology undertaken. So still petrified if honest even though I know all this and still feeling like this is happening to someone else!!!
BUT…woken up this morning with a sore throat and cold (thank you as if I don’t have enough already!). Do I just leave things as they are and see how it goes by Monday or do I call the BCN to advise as may need to reschedule the surgery.
HELP please ladies what to do…!!!
Thanks
Tracy xx
Call the BCN to advise certainly but when I had my WLE & SNB I had a bit of a cold and they said it wasn’t a problem & wouldn’t affect op. Understandable to delay if you’re actually ‘ILL’ but it could be much better by next week.

I also had a bit of a cold and was told at hosp as long as ive not got a chesty cough, then its fine to go ahead with op. Good luck x
Hello tracy
No harm calling the BCN nurse, you have 4 days until tuesday and it might be nothing , just being a bit anxious and stressed and bring on a sore throat, but I have had this rule throughout, if you think about calling …CALL, at least then you can put your mind at ease over the weekend. try and have some nice moments bit of pampering etc
hope all goes ok next week
take care Rhian x
Thanks to you all, yes I think a call is a good idea just to put my mind at rest.

Hi Tracey I agree with the the ladies, I now it’s horrid if your op is postponed. Mine was for 3 weeks because of problems with my blood clotting, but the chances are they will go ahead, but if they don’t it is for your own safety. Lots of people I spoke to said they got a sore throat just before an op and it went ahead, fingers crossed for you and good luck next week

Hi Tracy, my very first post way back in Oct, was cos I was worried about surgery and having a stinking cold, but I was told, as long as your chest is clear they will operate, and they did, hope you feel better soon, and that your op goes ahead x
