sorry to ask, this is probably a silly question. I went to the Drs with a lump and have been referred for an appt in 2 weeks. I’m taking the progestrogen only pill, desogestrel. On the leaflet it says:
if you have or if you are suspected of having a cancer that grows under the influence of sex-steroids, such as certain types of breast cancer.
I know I have no idea but should I stop taking them now as a precaution? I’m getting myself into a bit of a tizz as I don’t want to encourage the wrong hormone. If you can even do that. Sorry, I have anxiety and so I always overthink things. Thanks
Hi Ci - I’m sorry to hear that you have found a lump and have been referred, but very glad that you have found this forum. Yours is not at all a silly question. I don’t know the answer, but would suggest you start by calling the nurses on here - 08088006000 (number at the top right of the page too), or your GP to get some guidance.
But do keep in mind that the majority of lumps referred are harmless and as one of the other community champions on here (Shi) always says “you don’t have cancer until someone says you do”.
The waiting is a tough time, so please do keep chatting on here any time. Hugs to you, Evie xx
