side effects

Having just started radiotherapy this week - waiting room like a railway station, parking at the hospital absolutely grim plus long delays waiting for the machine. Am fighting the feeling of depression - my whole routine is disrupted - it takes so long for two minutes of treatment! I know that I should be grateful but what with the no perfume soap, no deodorant, do your exercises, drink extra fluids, boob still turquoise etc.,etc. I feel as if I have lost control of my actions. I just hope that this mood change is due to hormone tablets but then I have to take them for 5 years - oh dear!

Hi nuthatch

It sounds like you’re having a tough time at the moment maybe it would help to talk about how you are feeling. If you think you would like to talk to someone in confidence please use the Breast Cancer Care helpline where you are able to share your concerns with a trained member of staff who either has experience of breast cancer, or is a breast care nurse, and has an excellent knowledge of breast cancer issues.
The number to call is 0808 800 6000 the lines open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 2pm.

I hope you find this helpful.

Kind regards
