Last Tuesday had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Went to the Doctor today (Thursday) to get signed of work. Gave me two weeks. Managed to get another week as I am not ready to return to work. Is this normal, thought I would have got at least a month.

Hi Lindy,

I had a lumpectomy, therefore not such extensive surgery as yours. My GP immediately signed me off for a month, so do question this & don’t go back before you’re ready to.

Hi Lindy

My GP signed me off for two weeks but when I saw consultant she signed me off for 3 months. I had lumpectomy and am waiting to see what further treatment I will need.
