Hi I live in Scotland. I found a lump in my left breast just before Easter and had to wait a week to see doctor which was fine as I wasn’t that concerned. That was 10 days ago and he referred me to breast clinic as urgent. I’ve spent last week getting more and more anxious. Today j got my appointment and its not for another 4 weeks!! I’m now wondering has the doctor said something to make them think its not urgent or is it just the scottish system. I don’t know if my wallet can cope as I keep buying clothes to make me feel better.

Not sure what the system is in Scotland, but if you are concerned you could always ring the breast unit and ask them about it.

Hi, just wondering what part of Scotland you’re in. I’m in the Lothian’s and I’m waiting 4 weeks too!
Its more the worry of what they could find that is bothering me. They don’t have any fixed times for pts to be seen. Seems in england they have a 2week target and there are fines if these arent met. Looking at the date you posted in April you may have had your appt already, hope it was a good result.

Hi, I’ll have been waiting about 4weeks too by the time I get my appt. It’s a pity they don’t have a shorter wait. If they can manage a 2 week wait in england , why not in Scotland. It seems to be the accepted practise here to wait a month. I’m feeling anxious too and counting down the days! Hope your appt goes well
