Hi Cazy
I dont think you taking HRT has anything to do with it.
I was 46 when I was diagnosed with oestrogen positive breast cancer in 2016 in my right breast. I wasn’t on HRT, but I was told I wouldn’t be able to get HRT once I hit the Menopause. I was on tamoxifen for 5 years following 3 lumpectomies and 15 sessions of radiotherapy. I had the all clear after 5 years.
Forward on to 2023 I found a lump in my left breast and was diagnosed with oestrogen and progesterone negative cancer but HER2 positive. I had chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy and all my lymph nodes removed on left side.
Because of the HER2 positive I had 14 sessions of kadcycla (targeted chemotherapy) post surgery.
I opted to not have reconstruction. It is tough I’m not going to lie. But I’m here to tell the tale. Please reach out to me if you want a chat.
