sodium/pottasium levels
sodium/pottasium levels hi all
my wife just got a phone call from our gp receptionist she was given a blood test on tuesday mainly a request from her onc to check her hormone levels before her next visit on 21 may to determine she is post menopasual .
just finished last cycle of chemo taxol/capcetabine. the result of the blood test indicated low sodium/pottasium levels and recommends repeat blood test in a month my question is have any of you experianced this and should we have any concern over the result do we need to let our onc know this before we see her , any advice welcome
regards john
Hi John,
I had a low potassium result a while ago, I ate somemore banana’s and they gave me potassium tablets - the following month everything was fine and has been ever since. - a blip I think. Don’t know anything about low sodium but at the time my GP said loads of the general public have low potassium levels they just don’t know because they’re not getting tested. It is trends they usually look for so might be why they will re-test.
