Soooo frightened.

Hello everyone

I’m scared. I’m going to the doc’s in 30 mins because I’ve had bleeding from my left nipple for the past few days. I’m not really good at letting people see my body I’m embarassed and worried.

Hi honey,
Welcome to the forum but sorry you have found yourself here. You must have been seen by now so hope you are not in too much distress. For me the tests and the finding out that I have cancer was the most difficult…with time, I have come to terms with things. I have had 2 surgeries and am now in the middle of chemo and will have radiotherapy and hormone treatment.
I do hope that you have a positive outcome- do let us know how you go on. Just remember that whatever it is you are going through “this too shall pass” and it is doable. Ask folk for support, as you don’t have to try to be superwoman!
PM me if you want a natter.
lots of hugs and love

Hi maxy hope it wasnt to bad at the docs best wishes elaine

People are being so nice to me, thank you all so much, it’s good to know I’m not on my own. Well I went the docs (it wasn’t so bad) and have now been referred to the breast clinic, I’m not sure what goes on there?

Maxy x

Hi Maxy

Sorry you had to join us here. If the breast clinic referral is marked as urgent, you will be seen within 2 weeks. Usually they do a physical exam, a mammogram and sometimes an ultrasound. If there are any suspicious lumps they may also do a biopsy.

Hi Maxy

I have put for you below the link to BCC’s publication ‘Referral to a breast clinic’ which you may find helpful to read before your appointment. If there’s anything you don’t understand or need to ask, just phone the helpline here and the staff will be only too happy to talk you through things.

Hi Maxy

I am waiting for an ultrasound for exactly the same problem as you. It is also my left breast!

I was diagnosed with Duct Ectasia four years ago, I had visited my doctor with a blood stained nipple discharge . I went back to see my doctor in July this year as my discharge has started again and was referred back to the breast clinic. I had a mammogram and then an appointment to see the consultant. My mammogram was clear, however, the consultant felt a small lump he thinks may be a cyst. So I am still waiting for my ultrasound appointment.

Try not to worry, your bleeding may be due to hormonal changes or a benign condition. When it first happened to me I convinced myself it was the dreaded BC and ended up in a right old state.

Love Holly xx
