Hi, I’ve had sore lips for about a week now (had 2nd fec on 2nd June) I have a nasty taste in my mouth, but it is not sore in side my mouth. However my lips feel tingly and sore when I eat, rather like an allergy, They feel swollen, but look normal . I have always had dry lips and use lip salve frequently.
Anyone else has the same and has any one any ideas to calm down this rather unpleasant se.
Maria

Hi Ladies, Second try!
Maria, my friend has a sore mouth and sore lips with her second chemo. You must make sure whatever you are putting on your lips is natural and has no petroleum in it. A lot of lip balms do have petroleum!
I have a really ‘woolly’ mouth and today my lips feel ok, but dry, so l am going to speak to the pharmacist to see if he can suggest anything natural for the lips! before anything kicks in!
Carol, Have a lovely day!! Hope it goes well, in fact the first day is ok isn’t it? it is the next 5 days or so. Hope your curry went down well! and stays down!
Sunny days girls

HI MARIA
i use vaseline in a morning as they feel dry but have also suffered with cold sores during week 2 to 3 for the first 2 fec cycles, got zovirax from the doctor for that. Inside my mouth and down my throat is sore and woolly, got the difflam mouthwash for that.
Hi Maria
I had sore lips on my last chemo and a friend gave me Manuka Honey Lip Balm which was lovely and soothing and really helped - think she got it from Holland & Barrett. I also found that sucking frozen fresh pineapple chunks really helped my mouth generally.
Hope it improves for you soon.
Love Anne x x
Well done Anne, you just reminded me…
I asked my pharmacist this morning and that is what he suggested Manuka Honey Lip Balm!, in fact l have some Manuka Honey in my cupboard, think l will go and splash some on!!
Hope all is well with you Anne?

Hi Sandra
I have been keeping up with your posts and you sound as if you are coping very well with chemo - good for you and long may it last, don’t overdo it and be good to yourself.
I’m fine apart from finding out hospital messed up my appointment for Zometa infusion tomorrow. Went to check what time on my appointment card and it was blank - no appointment! Anyway after an anxious day it has been sorted but I could have done without it!!
Hope you enjoy the Manuka Honey - a friend of mine had a teaspoon a day during chemo and swore by it. Go splash it on girl!!
Love and hugs Anne x x
Thanks everyone, I’ll see how it goes.
manuka honey balm sounds great. thanks for the tip

Its expensive, but Elizabeth Arden’s Eight hour cream is fantastic.
