Hi there, i’m a bloke, and just typical of a bloke, i am worried about something. My mother had breast cancer and ive had a hard red lump just above my nipple for about ten days now. Its defonatley not like a spot ive ever had and its very tender to touch. Being me i decided to have a go at it and see if it was a spot but i didnt get much out of it and its still there. Then yesterday i had another go at and a bit of see through stuff came out but it feels like something is lodged in there that i cant squeeze out.
Am i just being a worried bloke and have i just told you a story about a spot i have or should i take further action?
You should probably try under Men diagnosed with breast cancer and see whether any other men have same symptoms. Sorry I can’t be of much help, can you not get a doctors appointment before monday, try under emergency appointment or something, although my docs don’t treat lumps and suspicions of breast cancer as an emergency!
I hope that you get things sorted and it is just a spot, but do try the other section as think there are quite a few other men on there.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Take care
Dawn

I can’t really offer much useful advice either but I do think you’re doing the right thing in getting it checked out. As Dawn says, it might be an idea to try to get an emergency appointment even if its only for your own peace of mind. Wishing you all the best.
God bless.
My hubby has had one of those lumps you describe and if you fiddle with it you will make it hurt more etc…his was a boil and it actually cleared on it’s own…he’s had a few in other areas since too…doc says it’s often caused by blocked skin pores…Try not to worry…your doing right to get it checked…I am sure it will be fine …but going to the doc is best! Please come back and tell us how you got on Best wishes LJ x
dont waste time fiddling wth it get it seen by your gp and if he thinks it need to be refered he will send you
your not being silly i am proud you are having the comonsense to sort it out
Thanks for getting back to me it really helps to hear from someone. The more i read the more i worry!! I went to a drop in centre at the hospital and they were useless. I was there for 4 hours and was seen for 2 minutes, they told me to see my gp in a week if its still there. GEE THANKS, GOOD THINKING.
I just can’t imagine what it must feel like to get told you have cancer. There are some of the most brave people telling personal stories on here. I can only send my heart out to each one of you.
I hope things clear up for me. It is also has a psychological effect on me that my mother died of breast cancer when i was little. I think about it each day.
I hope things go weel for you, it must be awful for you about your mother, its only natural to worry under the circumstances. I wouldn’t wait the week. Ring your GP asap and make an appnt. Explain the family history, and if they are concerned they will refer you.
My husband has 2 lumps, one in the back of his neck, and one at the bottom of his back. I think they are cysts, and so does he, but he hasn’t the common sense to get them seen to, so well done to you for getting it looked at.
I dont know what male bc is like personally, but in females, it tends not to hurt and you nrmally cant see it, but I appreciate that mens bodies are different.
