I’m mid way through chemo. Ive just had my birthday and my sisters usually take me on a spa day.
Can I still have a facial and head massage while mid treatment?

Hi jtspg,
Thank you for you post.
During chemotherapy treatment it can temporarily affect your blood cells in the body this includes white blood cells. This can result in not having enough white blood cells and this can increase your risk of getting an infection. The number of white blood cells usually returns to normal before your next cycle of chemotherapy and when you finish treatment.
It is lovely to hear you sisters take you on a spa day for your birthday as it can be very relaxing but as you are mid-way through chemotherapy it’s best to ask your oncologist or breast care nurse, they will be able to advise you.
