I’ve just had my third Epirubicin and cycophosmide (bad spelling and probably totally wrong!!!) cyle of chemo therarpy today. I have one more of these to go then change to Taxol (Paclitaxol).
I’m currently using the cold cap and despite my hair going thin, I still have a complete covering of hair.
I asked about side effects of Taxol today for when i change drugs. apparently The success rate of hair loss with the cold cap is extremely low but the staff nurse suggested having the dose split - so I basically go every week but have two weeks worth split into two. Hope that makes sense?! Apparently the side effects and hair loss are far far less doing it that way. It seems a great shame and would be sole destroying to have come this far and then lose my hair completely! I’m going to speak to my consultant about on my next chemo which is on 1 Octoberr.
I just wondered if anyone has experienced this?
