HI,
MY NAME IS GEMMA,
I HAVE BEEN STAGE 4 SINCE 2010, IN 2015 I HAD BREAST CANCER TO STOMACH AND HAD TOTAL GASTRECTOMY,AT THAT TIME MY CANCER CHANGED FROM ER+PR POSITIVE TO TRIPPLE NEGATIVE, DOES THIS MEAN I AM CLASSED AS TRIPPLE NEG, OR COULD IT CHANGE AGAIN.
ANY ONE ELSE HAD THEIR STOMACH REMOVED,ANY ADVISE I AM STRUGGLING WITH SEVERE TIREDNESS.ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Hello gemma
Welcome to our forum and hopefully someone will be reading this and be able to give you some good advice and support.
We have lots of triple neg ladies that would have more info.
I’m sorry I don’t have any answers as far as I know …I’m the same I was in 2004 …her2 negative …ER positive I think. Some of our ladies have changed status along their journey .

Hi Gemma,
like Carolyn, i have no experience of this. But wanted to pop in and say hello.
i did have a long chat with an onc once who did say that bc changes its dna a lot and so it is quite posdible for an Oestrogen - to mutate back again…they have seen in happen…not sure if they are yet able to stimulate such a change with drugs .
take heart tho, they are definitely working on bllood to try and answer some of these questions xx

Hi Gemma,
wish you hadnt had join us but welcome.
I was er/pr+, her2- when i started but my mets changed to triple negative. I have been told that the chnge is one way and wont revert back to er+,
One person once posted on here that she had been told that as the cancer was not originally TN, its not as aggressive as true TN??
I saw an article recently that indicated that oestrogen could be ‘re-booted’ by being given low doses of it but my onc said it only referred to people who were still er+ bt just not responding to hormone treatments…i’m not too sure but was willing to try but he wasnt having it.
I have no experience of your specific problem and i realise ive probably created more qestions than answers bt i hope it helps. xx
Hi Gemma
I have no relevant experience so I can’t advise. All I can do is wish you all the best and send you lots of gentle hugs.

Hi, I know being told you are triple negative is a bit of a blow xx
however, I was told by my onc that Oestrogen factor status can change from neg to pos, in rare cases. What I was told was that the bc can find another ‘driver’ whereas originally it was Oestrogen…eg it mutates so that it doesnt need it any more, but nothing seems set in stone…there are trials into vaccines and also attempts to find what bc is likely to do next…so that in time they can try to intervene.
we just have to wait patiently, but this is very hard. Xx
have not had my stomach removed, but I am aware of how very difficult that must be at times, such an adjustment with changes to eating habits, etc xxx
do keep in touch with us and let us know how thngs go…we are all here for youxx
