Starting chemo in May 2011

10 miles Ninja-go girl!

Angielav-I’m more like you-managed to walk around local farm museum and then a few shops.

J-I will have a eureka moment when I can taste tea too. I’ve really gone off it on chemo cos it just doesn’t taste good.

Making cakes now with girls-not good for my waistline but something we love doing together!

So glad we all have one another on here-isn’t it amazing how many of us have had similar experiences? I am the only one of my friends who has “had a ballcock” (for want of a better phrase!) Would love to think i might find my prince one day, but now have doubts as I’m so independent. Also worried about how the double mx and everything will make me feel. My best friend says that if a man can’t see any further than that he’s not worth it, but i think a new relationship would scare me at the moment.
Hope everyone’s enjoying the weekend.
Love Rachel x

“So glad we all have one another on here”
Absobloodylutely!

The 10 miles wasn’t such a big thing - it was on a cycle track and it was virtually all level. We called into a pub in the next village on the return journey and it was all “normal” and fab. I wore a Buff to keep the sun off my scalp so no baldy looks - no cancer just a nice ride out.
The new house is surrounded by loads of Sustrans cycle routes - one is out of our back gate - that’s what we found so appealing about living here. It’s fairly flattish farmland round here so it’s going to be an easy way for me to recuperate and get fit again without too much strain.

Rachel - when I got my independence, I never thought that I would EVER have another man’s feet under my table. But Mr Ninja was so special…

Thanks Ninja-would love to think there’s someone out there for me somewhere. Cycle route sounds great-we have an old railway track by us that’s flat and traffic free so great for cycling-might just pump the tyres up and get out there!

Get on yer bikes and ride!

Bikes!! ME and OH are going to start cycling once I’ve finished treatment. Longing to have the energy and will to get back to regular exercise. I used to power walk 5 ks every morning and now just thinking about it makes me exhausted!!! Have become sooooo fat and lardy and bald and hideous, just longing to get back to normal.

Got to give up the biccies!

I second, third and fourth the motion, ‘Thank god we have this thread and this site and each other’!!

Rachel, I’m sure you will find your prince, (if you want to), as you say you may prefer your independance, but sometimes the unexpected happens and as Ninja says, Mr. Perfect, ( in her case Mr. Ninja and in mine my Prince among Men!) just tips up out of the blue!

Off to bed. Been a lovely day and have felt v well.

Nite nite all

Wandyx

Rachel I am very like you … quite like my independence now and happy to do stuff on my own and not have anyone to answer to or rush back for … just not sure I’m ready for another brush with another ballcock!! Expecially not after all this …
I’m hoping this chemo fog is lifting a little now but just fallen asleep on the sofa so maybe not … x

Had a very sad week! Close friend of mine just lost his battle with skin cancer! Really glad I am on a good week and could gave glass wine bloody need it!!

On a positive note, I cant have holiday, so just had night away in london with my son Ryan who is 15. We went to sea world which was brilliant. Then watched planet of the apes £15 per adult !!! London prices are ridiculous! . Dinner at TGI Fridays then finished today with Lion King! So nice to get away as had no holiday. Loved being away even if for one night. Had a fab couple days
Loving the use of “ballcock” !
I can’t cycle but have a hubby that does a 20 mile bike ride sat sun most weekends! I walked for about a mile in London, then celebrated with a magners cider!! I get so out of breath these days. I can’t wait to get back at the gym.

Keep going girls , love all the friends I have made through this forum.
Tricia x

Morning all,

Hope you’re all feeling ok today.
Have added my name to the ‘where are we list’, quite a few of you girls ooop north!! We should go for a meet next year when we are all either at the end or nearing the end of treatment. I think that would be great, do an overnighter in the middle of the country somewhere. It would be lovely to meet you all!

I’ll go anywhere!

Wandy-you’re right we should have a meet up when we’re all through all of this-I’m happy to go anywhere too!

Trish, sorry to hear about your friend :frowning:
Angielav-I’m value my independence too and am quite proud really that i have brought my girls up by myself and trained for teaching since the ballcock left. But who knows what the future holds?

Having a very lazy day today! Love to all

PS Cherryorchard I added you on cos I think we commented at the same time!

I’m up for a meet anywhere … as long as we can have a few jars!! x

Sounds good to me!

Five days post TAX5 - got to say this one wiped me out and I’m only just coming out of the haze.

Plan to go for a nice walk with the dog, dog walks always make me feel better.

I hope everyone is having a fab sunday and enjoying the sunshine!

Smiles xx

Hi all, good to hear of upbeat weekends. Feeling much more human last 2 days - hurrah! Had leisurely wander up North Norfolk coast yesterday with OH and told ourselves we were on-trend and having a staycation (they don’t call it Kensington-on-Sea for nothing!!) Just wish the sun would come out here …

Just to add to what others have said, this thread has been such a life-saver over the last few months, don’t know what I would have done without it. A meet-up sounds great - happy to travel wherever.
Have a great Sunday ladies.
