Hi Poppet, hoping you have found your way to here on the new site. Not sure what I think of it yet but def preferred the old one!

Poppet, (I don’t know your real name), did you have mx alone, WLE or mx and recon? When did you have it done? To be so sore on your cancer side sometime on have you thought about lymphodema? Are you or wil you be having rads? Lymphodema may explain your arm ache (as may the horrid chemo bashing you have been having!) and your dry skin. If you are due to have chemo then radio is gonna dry your skin out more!

Hope you are keeping well hon, xxx

Hi Poppet, (happy to still call you that but nice to know your name, mine’s Kate)

Interesting what you say about the pain and chemo as I have ongoing pain in my left arm (not enough to let me sleep) and shoulder but if its re slow healing how can that be as I didn’t have shoulder or arm surgery and my armpit doesn’t hurt?

Only a quickie as have tea to cook, nice that you found our thread so we can keep in touch, speak soon.

Hi
My doc told me the pains we get in our ribs and shoulder are of nerves that have been cut are disturbed of the ops.

Been out and about alot i feel this week the best since chemo so trying to cram as much in as possible. Although my son who lives in London had us running around looking for mice traps as he has mice and he is petrifyed he only 6"5 and 14 stone but he wants a one that does not kill them. I don’t Know the jobs us mams get.

Bought some new clothes and a couple of pictures for the house as i am sick looking at old ones.Been doing up the now spare rooms as kid flowing nest told OH i wanted to make one into gym hehe.

Decide today i am going sell my wig i bought as i have never had it on and hair coming back find the thing for to hot and more so since having really bad hot flushes no period since begin of nov not missed them.

well my eyes have gone have a nice weekend.

Hi Poppet,

Sorry I haven’t posted for a few days. Been busy out and about with eldest daughter shopping, taking her to gynae appt etc and cleaning house!

Did you get snow? We got snow and it NEVER snows to settle in Weston! My youngest was over the moon! Shame its nearly gone now though.

Glad to hear you have been out and about - made me smile about your son! Kids eh? Bet he wouldn’t tell is friends his feelings about mice? Nice to think that he still needs his mum.

New clothes, piccies and a gym!! You are feeling good!

I use my wig very occasionally (the odd night out) but have worn it more in the last few days than the last few months. Guessing its cos I am fed up with no hair and cancer and all that that brings - I just want to get back to normal life and find myself looking longingly at women with hair. I don’t want to look like someone with cancer anymore - I want it to be part of my past not my present and definately not my future!

Last chemo next week for me! How much more have you got to go?

xx

Hi,

Hope your chemo went okay today and that you don’t suffer too many SE’s. Cuddle up under that duvet and look at the snow and hopefully feel snuggly!

Been out and built a snowman and been sledging today! Have arranged to go back to work on the 6th March which suddenly feels very close and much as I have been bored at home I’ll probably wish I was back here soon enough.

Take care Poppet, x

HI

Well done to you for getting a long this long road and i am pleased you are ready for work but rember to take thing slowly in lots of ways i wish i was bsck to work but once i am i am sure i would like to watch daytime tv again as my daughter calls them here daytime friends lol.

Hi Poppet,

Good to hear from you. I haven’t been on much myself, partly cos I don’t like the new look website, partly because I am trying to mentally move on and find it difficult to do that reading too much on here, and partly cos 6th and final FEC has hit me hard. I have been soooo tired since my FEC on Tuesday, been in bed every night at 9 and feel dreadfully sick and chemo’d the rest of the time. Still I never intend to go through this again!!!

Well done you for sticking with it. 4 more to go!!! Way hay! At least you can see the end now! Sorry about your SE’s but glad they have settled for Friday.

Work seems very close now and feeling as I do right now I can’t face it but if I bounce back like I have after the last 5 in 10 days time I’ll be gagging to get back. Wound is on the final hurdle so looks like my bath will be along in the next few weeks too. Hair is growing back as are eyelashes and eyebrows so whilst I will be wearing a wig when I go back hopefully not for too long!

Best of luck for Friday, xxx
