i am still without kids and had a restless night - i’ve got a cough/cold which doesn’t help (paranoia sets in!!) and was also mythering cos my neighbour who is 80 is supposed to be flying out of birmingham airport this morning and i was awake early trying to check the situation re flights before she left at 8 this morning - hate the thought of her being stuck at the airport and uncomfortable.

Joining you SJ as another ray of sunshine! So much better than no 1. I do crash out this time though, had 2 little afternoon naps and was sleeping really well last night until 20year old son arrived home at 4.30 without his house keys! Needing MY sick bowl! I hope his head hurts today… hehe.
Jo, it will be better next time. It’s a shame i think that drugs like Emend are not given out as standard. I bet they will be in another 10 years time, not that we’ll be worrying about it then. Thats progress. With one over and proof if you like that you have been sick, i’m sure you’ll get the magic pills.
The indigestion meds have been working too. And now i sound like i’m bragging, so i’ll be off.
I hope that everyone suffering will have a better day. xx
Quick question… when does hair go?? The sides and back of mine has thinned lots, but the top looks like its growning. Will it just drop out any day soon?? I’m day 3 post FEC2 XXX

Ive had my second fec about 11 days ago and have got some badly patches , but my hair appears to be still growing!, it doesnt even seem to be falling out either, so I dont know when its all ment to fall out, I keep wondering when it will happen.
Girls some of you are say about constipation, well green spinage is really good, try and eat a bag of at a time, it boils down. You can have it with your roast dinner, in stew, in currys. Spinage with melted cheese is lovely!
Drinking water helps and fresh fruit aswell.

Amazingly I have been ok after #2. Still can’t believe it.
Was going to get up fo church this morn to show willing. Some of the tabs make me drowsy tho. Took them at 8 and then woke up at 11! Good job I didn’t go. Would have been like Smithys mum in Gavin n Stacey.
Think I’ll have a bit of a duvet day n maybe wrap a few prezzies if I can find them.
Still not sure what hair is doing tho. Day 3 post Fec 2. Lot of hair still on head but strands (lots) coming out. Not brushing it tho just putting alternative on top. It’s probably just balanced on top of my head lol.

yesterday was the first day i felt like me again after 2 weeks since fec2. and that horrid tummy bug. x just helped andy clear 8 inches of snow from drive. its crazy, ive not seen snow like we had yesterday for years, looks beautiful but also causes havock…stuck at andys till it clears and we havent much food. tescos cancelled the online order as snow. so when girls go their moms today for the week we are gonna try n get out.
Well I’m just enjoying my last couple of normal days before Tax2 on Tuesday
Snows really deep here so have been sledging with the boys at Farnham park although walking up the hill I feel like I’m 80!!
I asked my bc nurse about hair falling out and she says it doesn’t fall out, the chemo just makes the folicals very weak so the hair breaks off in the root, so it still grows just if touched or rubbed it breaks, which may explain why some if you still have hair on the top if your head as opposed to the sides…

Kimmie - it sometimes starts growing back before you even finish chemo - and yet other people have to wait a couple of months, so it looks like there is no cut and dried answer (to use a sort of hairdressery pun, sorry, awful I know!). Well, with all the bandanas/scarves and hats I’ve bought, I’ll have a bit of explaining to do if I don’t lose my hair…lol… may have to pretend and clipper it off! Early days yet, and I can’t believe I’ll be lucky enough to hang on to mine, esp. after all the abuse it generally undergoes, bleaching/dying etc etc etc…
I feel in a deep fog today - have just managed to walk to village shop and back with eldest daughter as wanted some diet coke, and thought the fresh air might do me good, but now just feel wiped out with exhaustion as well as foggy minded! Definite a day for just curling up in front of the fire and watching telly. Simpsons at the moment, it’s about all I can follow…

Glad you first-FECers are over the hurdle. Sorry it’s not been a walk in the park. Only just getting over my 2nd (day 5) and still feel wiped out. Hair thin, scalp itchy, clippers doing their thing tonight.
Hope everyone else is coping and getting some enthusiasm for the week ahead. Not easy is it?

OH keeps on about making a Christmas cake and mince pies… he’s not expecting me to do it, but I just don’t want to hear/talk/see food at the moment, but don’t want to be the Bah Humbug in the house, so trying to look vaguely interested and bestir myself to find the decent cake recipe that I know is lurking somewhere.
Fortunately, got vast majority of wrapping etc done pre-chemo, as really could not be arsed at mo - they’d be getting their pressies wrapped in the carrier bags they came home in, with maybe a sparkly star…lol.
So annoying, cos I love christmas, and normally go so overboard with presents/cooking etc etc… not just christmas day, but for week after, all different bulgar wheat/cous cous salads, pies etc etc… blech. Maybe I’ll do it for Easter?

we poped out today, and i actually felt like everyone else, as so many people had hats on. i actually forgot for a while ihad no hair lol

Must have had a blast of energy from somewhere! Our very good friends were due to fly off to NY today but Heathrow term 4 was closed and they were going nowhere. OH picked them up from airport and i cooked dinner, mostly c/o M&S but all went down very well. Not perhaps what she expected for her birthday treat, but the old git candles( left over from OH’s birthday) on top of the panna cotta was a hit. Took my steroid pills far too late. Am wide awake and it’s well past bed time.
Maybe a long night to come. But well worth it, a good day. Oldest son went to a panto in Wimbledon to see his new hero Louis Spence. Is now thinking he may have gay tendencies and thinks i should have sent him to dance classes as a boy??? Something else for me to be thinking about tonight!
Hi pinkies hope you all feeling a bit more human today and good luck for next weeks Feccers and taxers .Girls in answer to youre question my hair did start growing about Fec no 3 although slowly and they did say i could loose it again but i didnt in our other perfect pinkies site you can see in my pic during chemo it is like fine baby hair but its definitely there . xx I’ll have to post my December new dyed hair pic ,Its getting very wavey and seems to have a style all of its own .By the way i just thought i’d share that my neighbour has just had her 3rd herceptin ( shes now having it at home every 3 weeks) and has been fine for those of you who have to contemplate that next no problems at all . xx Julie

Yesterday was old me for a day:))))) Went to work and got complimented on my wonderful hair by a the man from the joke shop, he nearly fell over when i showed him my head!!! Then went out and met friends for a beer and a curry:)) My getting ready time has been halved…every cloud.
Off for an ultrasound today, then last bits of christmas shopping:)
