OOOh yes, Peachez, do try and get the old bowel moving! Those natural remedies already suggested sound good. I had some problems before xmas and ended up having to go to GP who prescribed suppositories. Also told me to take lactulose every day and been ok since then.
thanks all, thrown everything at the problem and relief has been obtained :-)))
Hugs to all for a good night,
PS. MillyKins - thought of chasing wig down street … fofl !!! :-)) took mine for first real outing today, what a day to choose, still it stayed on , but I did take a scarf as well in case it went awol!
I’ve been feeling really tired since lumpectomy and snb- maybe it’s just stress so today I’ve been cleaning and tidying- particularly my bedroom in case I want peace and quiet.Chance would be a fine thing- they’ll all likely land in my room anyway! Mind you I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My grandchildren 19 and 16 have always lived with me and my daughter and her 10 yr old moved in after she was very ill last summer so I won’t get a chance to feel sorry for myself.
Not sure what to expect on Monday .x x x
Just a thought! How DO you fix your wig? I’ve got mine but still have my hair. I asked in the salon if I needed anything else but they never said anything. Does it just stay on?
Hi marym. One of my wigs gas velcro tightening strips at the back and it stays on no prob. Just tightened it up gradually as I lost more hair. I also have a new one that has sort of hooks that you tighten on an elastic strip at the back. Again no probs with it staying on tho I know others have.
Just back from a party day 24hrs post first Tax. Mad or stupid. Thought I may as well get out before SE’s kick in. Husb having heart failure.
wide awake despite a zopiclone tonight. Made my 1.30am snack of honey cheerios & Hot Choc taste bitter. better kick in soon the bugger. got family meal/party tomorrow for nephew (21), Me Tues (45)& sis Weds (49). Mind keeps wandering away though to past holidays & travelling done in 20s - would be nice except I keep thinking the old “was that it then?” Thoughts you get in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep.
such a cliche but keep thinking about taking Sophie to Disneyland cos she’s seen the adverts & wants to go & LOVES disney princess stuff - OH secretly really wants to go too cos he’s a massive Disney fan in a film buff excuse kind of a way.
Peachez - glad something worked. you don’t appreciate a jolly good pooh til you can’t have one I always think!!!
MaryM- mine have the adjuster straps too plus some of the more expensive ones rene of paris have a clear plastic strip at the front which grips too. it was VERY windy today & mine stayed put just fine. - they are designed to stay on your head after all!!!. I use a cotton wig liner from Bohemia fashions bohemia-fashions.co.uk/ which helps with the itching too £3.50 - much nicer & more comfy than the nylon ones which are more for tucking up hair underneath.
MillieKins, start planning that Disney trip!! S*d the cliché! It’s wonderful and there’s so much to see. (We did Florida so did Epcot as well 2003 and ended up taking YD to SeaWorld in SanDiego for her 17th 2010– hence whale pic, that was only just over a year ago…sigh…)
MaryM, take it easy and rest up. My Syrup has a sort of plastic grip strip at the front and adjustable elastic bits round the back. It did feel like it might pop off at first, but it sort of ‘setteled in’. I stopped at the perfume counter on the way through a department store for a nifty glance in the mirror – just as the sales lady was making a bee line for me, then she saw me tug at my ‘hair’ and backed off!! Lol!!!
LIF, you keep holed up with the VAT return and keep UPwind of those germs! Strict hand washing please for all around you too please!
Hugs to people with ‘friend’ problems & Reeb, hope you’re ok too now.
Morning:-) stupid birds woke me up!!!
Millykins-we were planning on Disneyland Paris at October halfterm just gone, but then I found lump and my grandad died so it never got off the ground:-( still want to go though:-) if you search about you will get done good deals, or is it disneyland proper?? Would love to do that:-)))
Wind and wigs- spent Friday thinking it was going to blow off, double hatted it to school in the afternoon, but it wouldve been fine:-)) sounds very windy again today :-/
Does anyone use fake eyelashes? Mac ones have come with a widow twanky recommendation:-)) good enough for a panto dame- lol!!
Still worrying about the tax -hope you get yours done lif, and well done you for finishing chemo:-))
reeb - hope your temp starts behaving:-)
Kerry xx
Hi all,
Info about cotton wig liners very useful. I bought a nylon one, but it didn’t seem to serve any purpose so only used it once.
Hope everyone’s sleep , bowels, temps and everything else are behaving.
Still feel like I’ve been hit by a bag of bricks and have such attractive dark circles round my eyes OH is worried incase he’s accused of wife battering.
The temp investigation yesterday shows I have no temp control. No two hours were the same and it fluctuated by as much as a whole degree+ between one hour and the next. The highest it got yesterday was 37.8 and the lowest was 36.1 never felt any different (no hot flushes etc) and had a lazy slobbish day so activity wasn’t a particular contributing factor.
The ends of my fingers are going numb, had a right palava trying to get the dog’s tablet out of it’s packet, just couldn’t manage to pop it out and ended up taking a carving knife to it dangerous when your hands don’t seem to work properly.
LiF hope you manage to complete the vat return whilst looking after family and generally feeling grotty.
Interesting about the cotton wig liners. I hardly wear my wig as I find it so uncomfy and itchy, a cotton liner might
be the answer
Reeb - sorry you’re feeling grotty and your temp is all over the place. Using a carving knife to attack a dog tablet does sound a bit dangerous! I hope the dog appreciated it and no fingers were lost in the process!
LIF - perhaps your children could cook for you whilst you finish your VAT return?!?
Kerry - I did buy some fairly natural false eyelashes from Boots but I was absolutely useless at trying to put them on so I looked ridiculous. I was hoping they might give me some advice when I go for the LGFB course on the 3rd March.
jules u make me laff, but we can be reported together i left mine on the back seat yesterday when we popped into Tesco. have u noticed how many people stare at your bald head then look away. lol
i have senna-cot to help with bowels!!
mel, all the best for tuesday hunny, keep us all posted.
ive a question and i may be very blonde for asking. tiedness, am i silly in thinking the tiredness u get is only cemo week, as its my good week no and im sleeping loads, cemo 5 thursday so why am i tired now still.
Kaz- each time you get a dose your body has to repair itself and that takes a lot of energy and it won’t have completely repaired itself before the next dose comes along. It’s had to do this four times so far and it’s knackered, so listen to it. If it’s telling you it wants you to stay under the duvet then do it.
Reeb…I really sympathise with the fingers thing…its really hard to explain it to others who havent got it too…I keep attacking all sorts of stuff I cannot undo including the shower gel! My fingers get pins n needles at night and wake me up…hmmm
Got roast in oven…easy thing to cook and they can all clear up after and at least the old battle axe (MIL) will have had a visit. Sheep all ok and son walked dogs. Smallest has been bribed to tidy his bedroom…mmmmm we shall see…but interesting bangs coming from that direction!
Kaz…I feel shattered all the time now but just keep going…hopefully we will all feel less tired once this poisoning has finished and gone through our systems, although exactly at which point we can start to feel lots better I am unsure!
I have just booked a weekend away in Cornwall for w/end after rads finish…think I will need to celebrate…and sod the expense!
Hugs to those who are knackered or down in the dumps…and well done PP for getting out there before it hits…hope ur ok now?
good morning ladies

Hi all. Feeling v lazy n lying in bed. Why is it when you’re really exhausted u notice every tiny thing that need doing in t house. Suppose when you’re horizontal you get mire of a view. ( no rude comments girls). Have noticed how dusty t living room curtains are n the Walls need a paint. Think oh will kill me tho.
No pains yet. Mouth feels like cotton wool. Got Biotene mouthwash as well as toothbrush.
No plans for going to work for a few weeks or so. Must get rid of guilt.
Summer, to answer your question from about 3 pages ago, I don’t even know when I’ll find out when RADs are. I have FEC 5 on 21st Feb and will see the onc before that but she doesn’t say much about anything. She’s younger than me but I find her slightly intimidating - she kind-of looks at me like school teachers used to whenever I asked stupid questions. But it would be nice to know, so I can plan things. I know BC has taken over life as I know it but I still have vague ideas of doing stuff from time to time.
Milly, we took my husband’s grandson to Disneyland Paris a couple of years ago. He was 6 then and loved it. But if you can, go to Florida, cos SeaWorld and Disccovery Cove (swimming with dolphins) are fantastic and they’re all nearby. We rented a villa that would sleep 10 and had its own swimming pool for £58 per night. At Disneyland Paris we stayed in one of the hotels and ended up spending a fortune on eating out. 3 burgers, fries and hot chocolates were £40 from a fast food place.
Reeb, we just got a digital thermostat for our heating, which is v good. Could you get one fitted to your body? ;0)
All these roast dinners are making me hungry:-) that’ll be tomorrows tea:-)
kaz- I seem to be tired all the time, just try to rest and not do too much in a day:-) hoping the cleaning fairy pops round one day soon:-)
didn’t get eyelashes, got another handbag instead:-)))) might be bald, fat, spotty and pale but my handbag is gorgeous:-))) scarlett got lots of attention too, and lots of perfume samples, so she us happy.
Hot flushes are getting really annoying, had to take my wig off in the car, now I am cold and sat with my blanket and a hat on! Any tips?
