Thank you. Completed the course, routine consultant radiologist appt halfway through. Keeping true to the “moisturise, moisturise, moisturise” mantra, plus a good 2litres plus fluids, exercise and a good ie normal routine. Trying, to keep routine as normal as possible and that way can monitor fatigue, as normal 65 year old or end of treatment emotional/physical exhaustion, or radiotherapy fatigue. Keeping a diary, not exhaustive but as a self monitoring exercise. Gifted Moo Goo, using Cornish Seaweed Bath Co, fragrance free skin repair balm at night (longer absorption) and keeping cotton next to skin. M&S strappy cotton vests bought in multipacks, ditto Seasalt t shirts, and M&S cotton pyjamas. About to depart on programmed holiday that also is technically honeymoon, usually the dog has largest amount of luggage.. think with the Fragrance Free kit, plus double amount of cotton tops etc plus emergency E45 it could be me. Not a question of being lighthearted, very grateful and fortunate to have had routine mammogram in May pick up tumour, investigations and biopsies Bristol Breast Unit, transferred to local hospital RUH Bath, including the 2024 Dyson Cancer Centre. All units under phenomenal pressure of increasing number of patients in care, every single member of staff could not have done more. When I say volume the waiting list periods for some tests and results extended during my treatment eg DEXA scan, radiotherapy. I offered to take up any cancelled/postponed appointments from the start, which despite travel to and from being 2 hours each often bus/train was something I was open to do. Pathway, journey not at an end. Not the summer quite as planned with routine scan in mid May, investigations biopsies/diagnosis and our wedding in June, treatment July onwards but in the right hands at the right time. None of this has been easy, but the BCU/Cancer Centre staff simply brilliant, the Macmillan Hub staff and understanding friends have been there too and remain. Yes more appointments in schedule. Plus my pink workbook/diary where I have listed everything, questions, fears, reactions, monitoring and discussions, answers has been a help, as the brain cells have not always been at their best! Good wishes, love and so much understanding and thank you xxx
