Hi ladies, been to radiotherapy department to get measured up for my treatment which starts in 2weeks.there has been alot of waiting in between appointments, which I found very stressful.but now I will be starting my next part of the journey.I was ER positive, so my oncologist suggests to take letrozole for 5yrs,I was diagnosed on 4th June, and 3 month’s on I feel more positive.I.know I have a long way to go,but taking each day has it comes.I hope all you ladies are coping with your diagnosis and treatments.x
I’m glad you feel more positive now. The worst part really is the shock one gets when you get the results then things sort of settle down and one accepts the reality and starts going through the different phases of treatment. From your post I can assume you’ve had surgery and will be going straight to rads with no chemo. That is really great. I can assure you the worst is already behind you. Radiation is not too bad provided of course you follow your doctor’s instructions and apply whatever cream s/he’s prescribed. I would also advise you to drink PLENTY of water - up to a minimum of three litres a day. In addition to having a detoxifying effect water keeps the elacticity of the skin and helps rejuvinate the cells countering the harmful effects of radiation. Try to eat a healthy diet and stay away from any canned food.
