Starting rads on 8th September too?

Hi
I’m back from holiday and had a fabulous 50th birthday party at the weekend. As I promised myself I started tamoxifen after the party. And on Wednesday I have my first of 15 rad sessions. I know a few others start around that time too. How are you doing ladies? Want to compare notes?
Have you been moisturising? I meant to, but sort of forgot, so will go and put some on now before bed, in prep for Weds afternoon.
Susie.

Hi Susie
I also started rads on Wednesday at the Royal Marsden, Sutton. I’m having 15 in total. So far, so good although it feels a little tnder. Hope you are doing ok.

Hello both,

Susie - so glad you had a fab holiday and 50th: hopefully it’ll stand you in good stead for the next few weeks.

So far so good with the rads. I don’t feel sore yet but do feel pretty tired. One of the radiographers told me today however that she very much doubted it was the RT yet (she looked about 15 mind you - I know that’s an appallingly ageist thing to say!).

I haven’t done the cream thing yet but suppose I should.

I’ve decided to hold off on the Tamoxifen until rads are finished and I can have a proper conversation with my onc about whether the potential benefits are going to outweigh the potential side-effects in my case, as my original onc was very dubious about that.

Nice to hear from you, Emma. Hope you are well and look forward to comparing notes.

PS I love your pic, Emma!

Hi both,
I’ve just posted a message to Katie - then seen this thread.
Emma, glad to hear it’s ok so far for you. I’m a bit tender too, and they thought yesterday there might be a bit of infection inside so suggested I took ibuprofen for a few days. It seems to have helped a bit.
Otherwise I’m feeling physically fine. Just sometimes get a bit overcome with feeling sorry for myself. Then I feel guilty and then I have to pull myself together and jolly well cheer up!
6 down 9 to go - nearly half way.
Susie.
