I so agree. It is such a help having you all out there knowing you understand both the good times and the less good. And nothing wrong with Essex, Anne! Oddly it was my anniversary last Saturday - good things still happen. I am enjoying the sunshine today and being glad I don’t have to face the commute into town to work! Tomorrow and Thursday are onc, bloods and then firt tax. Good luck with your last one tomorrow Pauline. Must be a great feeling. Wonder how fast hair comes back. My few wisps are growing I think, but nothing new coming.
Good to hear from everyone and know that there are quite a few near and around me, within driving distance etc. It does help having people to talk to, and share this with, as friends and family do not really understand.
My hair, or should I say my wig, is doing OK. Been out and about with it for 4 days now. Does get a bit uncomfortable by the end of the day. But least I know treatment doing something.
Pauline good luck with your last tax tomorrow, Dilys good luck with your bloods and first tax this week, hope the side effects minimum. I have my 3rd FEC two weeks tomorrow.
Dilys, I no longer have to commute into London, as gave up (made redundant in 2003) and then had first baby, so been a housemummy since then. And do I miss it … NOOOOOO. Least the weather in Essex is nice again today.
Well done you Dawn for wearing your wig every day. I am too lazy, though I know my OH prefers it to the turbans. I just don’t feel safe in the wind! At least you are that stage when the next dose seems a good time away! I hate the week of the zapping itself. Just hope my blood is good enough to go ahead as it will be awful to have to put it off. And if that isn’t a prime bit of nonsense-think I don’t know what is! Sure you know what I mean though. How lovely to be a house mum - though all this must be a lot of work with a small child as well.
So glad to have found this thread as I have just had 4 AC cycles and the last one has really wiped me out. About to start 4 Tex cycles on 13th and not looking forward to it at all but know with all your support I will get through it, just feels like a life time away. Following this I expect to have surgery then rads. Anybody at Broomfield hospital?
I’ve lived in Essex just outside of Chelmsford for 22 years but come from Liverpool originally so feel very at home with all of you.
Dear All
Feel like i am eaves dropping on a really good conversation here and couldnt help but drop in. I am having my 2nd FEC tmoz so fairly new to the whole thing. Good luck to you all with your treatment. I did over read (?) a couple of comments and have got some things worth trying. I had semi permanent make up to enhance my eyebrows. Basically they etch in temp eyebrows that may last a couple of years its very subttle and I can say I am really pleased with the result. My eyebrows were thin and weak from years of waxing anyway and I can honestly say its the best money I have spent in ages. May be worth a look. Also Clinique have just brought out a cream eyeliner that seems to glide on with a very fine brush again may be worth a look. I usually use liquid eyeliner but with the prospect of losing eyelashes I thought liquid would just run every where! Hope you dont mind me droping in.

Ahh… you are the bridge between some of us, born in Liverpool and now “down south”! Where were you from in Liverpool? I live in Mossley Hill at the moment but have lived all over! Also lived in Kent for a while as a child in Hythe.
Dilys, like everybody else I wish you all the best for tomorrow! And for Thursday but come and tell us how your bloods are tomorrow!
Anne, are you starting to feel better or still rough? I still have mine to come!
Fayjay, sorry dont have bone spread but have heard that Taxotere is excellent chemo. Good luck and hope someone on here can help you.
welcome! … I went to Looking Good Feeling Better yesterday and one of the women was saying how wonderful the semi-permanent make up was. Also got Calvin Klein eyeliner which is wonderful, very soft and easy to apply! (and free!)
Dawn, dont want to miss you out so hope you’re well too!
Hi All, Hope everyone is still going strong and feeling a little better today.
Pauline, I was born in Bootle and lived in Maghull for a few years before moving south, all my family and my OH’s still live in Liverpool, how are you liking Mossley Hill, have you been there long?
Anne, Yes I am under the care of the two Profs, how far on are you in your treatment? How do you find Paul Sauven, I’m not too sure about him yet but it’s still early days. I have started having Reflexology weekly at the Rochelle Centre which is next door to Springfield so if you fance meeting for a cup of tea we could meet there, let me know.
Is the info on Looking Good, Feeling Better on this site is there one running in the south as it sounds very good.
Hi all
Dilys, hope its all going well. Missi and others, were do you get semi-permanent treatments - do most beauty salons offer this or is more specialised?

Breast Cancer Care
Hi all
I’ve just finish 8 sessions of Tax for local recurrence (on scar line under arm). Feeling ok apart from joint ache (feel like a old woman at 38 !), my nails are coming off, and have put on a good stone. Even with all this Tax was better than FEC!
Had original stage 2 BC in 2004. Had masectomy, node clearance, FEC chemo, 5 weeks radio and tamoxifen. Also, whilst undergoing reconstruction had other breast off.
I will be starting hormone therapy soon (the injection one) but would rather have my ovaries out to save the hassle.
So far so good on session 7. Feel ancient and useless but not so ticked off this time. Think its something to do with only one more to go.
Pauline - your last one today?? you lucky girl!! Hope the next weeks a fairly easy ride for you.
Welcome Fay, this is my second stint with BC, first was 11yrs ago, and have heard from everyone that this chemo is the best, bloody hard, but good. Keep posting.
Helen - I have had seven our of eight chemos, then presumably hormone treatment as I can’t have rads to same breast twice. Then hopefully, maybe, sometime next year I’ll get a new boob job! I keep meaning to go to the Rochelle Centre, but reflexology?? can’t stand my feet being touched, I’m actually from South Woodham, maybe we could meet somewhere away from hospitals!!
To everyone else, hang in there, soon be Christmas!!
Cheers
Anne
Hi Jo and everyone
Semi permanent is specilised treatment. I live in Manchester and was lucky enough to be put in touch with a therapist very close to home, she has clients that come from all over tho. There is a consultation that lasts about an hour where she does a skin test and ‘draws’ an eyebrow shape on, then its a return for the ‘tattooing’ which lasts about two hours and then you go back a few weeks later for another touch in session. (not had this yet). Google semi permanent make-up and see if there is someone nearby.
Anne - I was like you about my feet being touched however had reflexology for the first time last week. Cant wait for my next sess next week soooo good.
Just here after my 2nd treatment only 4 to go!!
Keep bright

It has been a while since I have been online and it is good to see new people on here. I gather that quite a few of you are nearby to each other - I am in Beckenham Kent. But welcome to all and hope you are doing ok and hang in there as this is doable.
I have had 3x fec and 2x tax and tomorrow is my last tax, which I am looking forward to for that reason, get it over and done with! I do not have to have radiotheraphy due to no lymph involement and I am aware that most you brave ladies have to go through a lot more than I do and admire all your courage in facing it.
Sam - you have had quite a journey with this and must be relieved the tax is now over! I had reconstruction surgery however did not have my other breast off, it was not discussed at the time and I think I would have found it all too much then. I am being tested by the genetics clinic and if it comes back positive I will seriously think about having the second breast off due to the ever present worry.
Pauline - I am right behind you and will toast you when we feel better after the tax session.
So good to see people nearing the end of chemo, I have heard others say even if they have to have surgery and or rads it’s not as hard as Chemo so congrats to you all. I’m on number 4 of 8 and it feels like a life time to the end, then surgery, then rads so hope they’re right.
Anne, we live in the same town, fancy meeting in The Coffee Lounge or The Lodge do a wide range of lunches.
I would PM you but not sure how to as last time I tried a PM it came up for open viewing so not sure what I did wrong. If you know PM me please.
