Starting treatment soon - just got my results, HELP!!!

Hi Ladies,

just looking for some advice as I got my results back today from what they found from my mastectomy and right node clearance.

How does this sound to you who know what they are talking about?!

I have grade 3, stage 2b, HER2+, estrogen-
My tumors were 27mm and 11 mm and 12 out of 13 lymph nodes were infected.

I am meeting the onocologist in 12 days then I should be getting a heart scan and starting my chemo a week later which will last around 8 months then I will be on herceptin for a year plus I will be getting radiotherapy.

Can anyone tell me how do they find out if your neck lymph nodes are infected or not and is this similar to anyone elses?

Should I get a ct, liver, bone scan? I already have had brain, bone scan, chest x ray.

I am still positive, I will beat this!

Hi babychops

While you are waiting for some replies from other forum members I thought the BCC publication “Understanding your pathology report” might be helpful. Here is the link:

Hi Babychops
My dx was very similar to yours grade 3 ibc with 3/20 lymph nodes affected, had wle/node clearance on 27th feb , had ct scan and heart scan before chemo started and they have found a lymph gkand in my next is enlarged by its under the chin and apparently not one usually affected by bc ? I was told it was only seen as I must have been lower down on scan table than norm as they dont usually scan that far up neck !! all very strange anyway they are to have a meeting and speak to me when im next at chemo which is next wednesday. Ct scans and heart scans tend to be a matter of course esp if you have high node involvment I was border as at Marsden its usually over 4 nodes and mine was 3 so im glad they did at least the one in my neck that is enlarged can now be checked, Hope this helps im not very clued up on BC specifics as im one for just get on and get rid rather than the in’s and outs

Good luck with your treatment

Take care Janice x

Dear Janice,

Thank you for your message.

At least they found the one in your neck and it will be treated.

I hope I get a ct scan too! I will be asking for one! I wish you all the best with your treatment too. Keep us updated.

Take care
