sticky nipples

Not sure if this is the right place ot post but just wanted to share the fact that I collected my sticky nipples from the St George’s max/fax unit om Tuesday. Yesterday I wore a clingy top for the first time since surgery in Sept 06 and I felt great. Where I had the other breast reduce the nipple is permanently proud so I looked very lop sided before - now I feel more symmetrical and “normal”. I had some doubts about this, but the process was easy, the doctor was fantastic and the result is great. If you have any doubts try it!

Is that St. George’s in Tooting? I was offered sticky nipples but I think I may go for a reconstructed one and tattoing. I am seeing my consultant at the end of the month to discuss this.

How long did you have to wait for them to be made?

Yes it was st georges. I went for one appointment where they took the mould - and went back a fortnight later for fitting and collection. I wasn’t worried about a perfect colour match so Iain did that from “experience” and got them spot on!

I am seeing my surgeon at StG. next week to discuss nipple reconstruction and tattooing. I will also ask about sticky nipples. Did you consider having tattooing?

i’ve got an appointment tomorrow to have a nipple made,
i am interested to know what happens, i’m guessing i’ll have some stuff poured or pushed onto my remaining nipple!
My surgeon has arranged for it to tide me over for 3 months before she does my nipple recon.

I haven’t considered tattoing or nipple recon - my surgeon is quite reticent and not easy to talk about these things. I would like to know more about a permanent solution but not just yet.

i am having a nipple recon on the 21st of Jan 2008, i am really happy with my recon, so this seems the next best step for me, my surgeon has been fantastic, it takes about 45 minutes under a local anethetic, then i will have to go the the Chrisites to have the tattooing done, at least i know it won’t hurt a lot if at all, that makes it a lot easier
