still waiting!!

Hi all, Ive been posting on the “have i got breast cancer” part but as this seems to be going on and on i thought maybe this part was more appropriate!
I found an enlarged axillary lymph node back in november, had core biopsy which resulted in inflammatory changes, reviewed for further biopsy and the node had gone down so further review a month later, on this review the node had enlarged again and further nodes were present too. Another core biopsy was carried out and has shown reactive changes? I am going in tomorrow to discuss the results and to have a blood test. I now have no idea why the nodes are enlarged and it seems that they don’t either. They won’t say it is cancer but they won’t say that it isn’t either!! The blood test i think is to look for toxoplasmosis but i am now worried what the problem is if it isn’t toxoplasmosis?
Not sure i can cope with this worry for very much longer!

Oh Sparrow, have been following your journey, it’s been a long one hopefully you will get your answers tomorrow, all the best to you, take care and fingers crossed xx

Well, as i thought, i am still none the wiser. blood tests done today and ct scan now booked, chest, abdominal, and cervical. can’t help but worry. I think i am now all clear for bc but nhl is what is hanging over me. I don’t think i can cope with this any more, i am fed up of being proved and poked with no answers. where is my wine? !!

Sparrow if it’s reactive changes in our nodes it doesn’t sound like BC or NHL as both of those would show up as cancer cells if they thought it was cancer in the nodes…

Have you been unwell at all with any infections as reactive nodes are enlarged due to fighting off infection or similar… You can get reactive nodes if you have a cancer in the breast and our lymphatic system tries to get rid of it… The same as it does if ou have a sore throat and get swollen glands in your neck…

It is possible that it could be some other illness related to your immune system like lupus… Which I hope it’s not that either… But even generally being run down or having a cut on your hand can cause reactive changes to your lymphatic system.

Fingers crossed its not anything serious but I know the not knowing is total hell.

Hi all
Had further blood tests done and results have come back normal. There is no infection. they also did a test for toxoplasmosis, results also normal. They have now referred me for a ct scan. They told me it would probably be in the next few months as it is not urgent however i received my appointment in the post for next week! thank goodness its half term this week and i have the children to take my mind off things. Hopefully the scan will not show anything either and that could be the end of it all?
