Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

RevCat. Just venturing out. Don’t worry! I have Timmy with me to guard against strangers, and a tent in case we don’t make it back.

Will have to change first - these cropped walking trousers - first time I’ve worn them this year, but they’ve been a favourite for YEARS - are much too tight. :frowning: Tamoxifen or inactivity??? And I thought I’d LOST weight through all this treratment - and everyone’s been telling me that too! Hey ho another bug(*er) to bear?

Cat fountains?? I thought cats hated water?

Erm Jane, are you using invisible ink or somesuch? I can’t read what you’ve written! Way too Blytonsesque for a Monday afternoon!

Just wrote a rather large post and it’s completely disappeared, so here I go again!
Perhaps Jane is ANONYMOUS? Invisible ink hahaha, you made me laugh.
Is she trying to tell us something? Can anyone decipher, my super sleuthing kit seems to be on the blink…
I went to Adsa cause I love their King Prawns yummy yum yum, and fresh fruit salad courtesy of M&S for tea tonight with lashings and lashings of cream.
My weight is going up and down cause last week I was half a stone heavier, must be fluid retention or something may just be standing too close to the lake…
Have had a lovely day today so am tra la la ing around the “happy” bench. xx

Make Way! Coming through to the smug bench! 3 weeks worth of shopping bought and stowed away and no melt down in sight. Just melting! So flippin HOT and the air con. has just packed up on my car - picks its moment??

That’s the 2nd invisible post from GIJane - I think she is trying to tell us something? Not a very helpful way to go about it tho’?
RAC bloke at Sainsbury’s made me laugh. He was stood there in full hi vis uniform, in the brioling sun, trying to flog membership, looking thoroughly p**ed off. When I came out of the shop with my overloaded trolly, having already walked past him twice, he said “I could cover your trolley for breakdown between here and your car?!”

Nice try, if I wasn’t already a member I might have joined just because he made me smile.

Pizza and salad for dinner outside in the garden. With strawberries and cream. Yes of course it’s the meds making htese trousers too tight!

Hi ladies, hope you are all O.K. today.

Thank you for your comments re Tamoxifen, everything you say is so correct most probably I will be a good girl and take the dratted things because if I don’t…? RevCat your XY question is spot on! I just find it strange that a known carcinogen is given to us to prevent it. Huh…?

Also on the smug bench I too have been food shopping,I tried to go Saturday but it was so crowded I just turned around, walked out and went home.

Well I think its now wine o’clock so I will retire to the garden with my glass and raise it you all!

Ladies just spent 3 days on a campsite with two small dogs - TOO HOT to walk, so they had to play in the river with children. Well Millie did, Barley sits on the bank and minds the towels.
So the 3 of us are on the It’s too flipping hot Bench and will move onto the Watering the Garden Bench later.
Glad to hear everyone is keeping a sense of humour/ridiculous …
grumpy
PS for campers, the site is Baysbrown Farm, Chapel Stile, Langdale - and it is fabulous.

grumpy, glad to see you back, our weather started to change last night grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, turned a lot colder!
Daughter got her new car last night so she was a happy bunny, so we went for a wee spin.
Today have to go into town but the “CBA” bench is calling…xx

halloo! I’m on the invisible bench! over here… no, HERE…OOOPS mind yourself… we’re on the r&r bench, being on holiday, and the new, site makes the posts from my phone invisible. just knocked oh’s phone to baccarat go… great to exist once more. quite enjoyed watching the antics unseen though!!! love Jane just proof read this - some interesting words!!!

Lol…after moaning about a deluge of site postings in my inbox I am delighted to find benchland again! I keep losing it because I forget which topic it is posted under. I’m just on the lazy bench today. Not a lot of get up & go on day 5 after tax no.2 but definitely better than last time. Just got authorisation from my insurer to have my rads privately which should make appointments easier ( lol I will get some choice) plus it’s nice to feel a little more pampered at a small hospital as opposed to the massive QE in Birmingham!

Hugs to those of you worried about Tamoxifen. I was fine for 5 years other than a thickening of my womb in the last 6 months. No menopause…hot flushes…aches or anything like that! Ok…that puts me on the smug bench doesn’t it…

Twinky x

OH! GIJane - you made me jump, suddenly appearing like that! I didn’t see you there on the invisible bench!

Nice to see everyone finding their way back to Benchland - perhaps we need a set of footprints across the pages leading here?

I was up, showered, dressed (including bra WITHOUT extender!), had posted a letter and done the hoovering before my friends came to take me out for coffee at 11am! Energy definitely returning at long last!

Going to meet with my headteacher tomorrow to discuss a phased return to work after the half term holiday. I’ll probably start with 2 1/2 days and build it up one day a week. “Normal service will be resumed” in the near future! Mixture of excitement and anxiety. It seems that going back part time will actually reduce my income as I will no longer get sick pay? - but I suppose it’s worth it to get back in gently. Don’t want to risk overdoing it and having to be off again to recover!

Yay, they’re letting me back to work on Friday!! As I only work 2 hours every afternoon I’m sure I’ll be allright, although I may have to go off sick again when I have rads if fatigue kicks in. As my daughter is filling in for me while I’m off my return will give her a break.

Chatted today about Tamoxifen with GP now he IS pushing it any way he’s going to talk to my onc and get back to me. The more info I can get the better!

Been on the read a book bench today, considered clean the house bench and then thought I can always do that when the sun is not shining.

Have a good evening ladies,be kind to yourselves!

Pssssssssssssssssssst!!! Does anyone know if Jane is here or not?? I can’t tell xx

I just tripped over something - it may have been Jane!

Just to let you know, ladies, that we will have a cold summer from now on, as I’ve just paid 55 quid to get my car air con fixed! Cue record cold temperatures for the midlands for the rest of the year!?!

BTW where is your beach Katytc? It looks vaguely familiar (probably because it’s got sea and sand? :))

<Empty imported post>

Well JCJ, it’s raining and cold here so your prophecy is correct, thank you!!! Was really enjoying the sun!
It’s the beach at Palma Nova and the dot in the water is my grandaughter, from our hols earlier this year.
Just love it there…oh for a large lottery win xx

Ha ha my email is telling me that GIJane has posted in BENCHLAND but I see no post. Has she now gone *completely* invisible?

Am happy that I’ve finally switched off - I think - all the notifications… but it did mean cancelling all my ‘subscriptions’ to threads. So back to trawling the latest posts list for me!

Just refilled the spoon dispenser and chased away the alligators. My cat is eyeing her fountain very suspiciously - “you want me to drink from that?”

Dull in Glasgow but I got through the latest round of synchronised flushing with an excellent score, and actually reached new depths overnight, the most soggy ever I think. I just discovered that the Olympic torch will pass the end of the road where I work a week on Friday so I’ll be there to watch it go by!

Take care everyone. I will now add this thread back to my notifications!

boo!!! sorry if I made you jump RevCat…watch the bungee ropes! been watching you all…even if I have been drinking invisi-fluid… biyeeeeeee odisappearing again…

On the grumpy bench this morning as none of my clothes fit. Feel 6 months pregnant. Hormones? Don’t you just love 'em??? I hope this is a temporary situation and I’m not going to blow up like a balloon over the next 2 years!

Then, after a meeting with my head teacher, I’m on the 'up and at ‘em’ bench because she was brilliant. My phased return to work is in place, starting 11th June. I will have to do no playground duties or staff meetings until September. I’m doing 2 days the 1st week, 3 days for the next 2 weeks, then 4 days and 5 days for the last 2 weeks before the summer holiday. She even said that when I’m doing 5 days, one of those can be at home, if necessary, working on the school website and marking/prep etc. She rang HR and established that I will still be on full pay, (which a friend had warned me might not be the case). She also said she’s willing to be flexible on a week by week basis if I find I can’t manage the current plan, or feel I want to do more. Can’t believe my luck.

I feel positively excited at getting back to ‘me’ !

Ths kids were literally jumping up and down with excitement when I told them I was coming back and the staff all said they’d missed me. Eeeh it does you good to feel wanted! It won’t last. Can’t bribe them with cake EVERY day!
